For 2012 I have a really weird feeling that AKB48 anime and Idolmaster will have an interesting rivalry

@Ithekro:
i hope she does well there.

that was the first drama cd. it was sortof a spin-offish SoL madoka. but what's the real deal is Urobuchi mentioning a new madoka project w/c i'm kind of hoping won't be a sequel to the series. DX the series already ended too epicly for me. i might be pessimistic, but i fear it would ruin the show -gets stoned to death-

so, i'd rather have a SoL over a sequel. if the latter happens,i hope it's done right.

Shinbo said in the interview that he would like to do it. But no update and no news since then. He just said to himself, I believe. From business POV, I think that the spin-off/OVA/sequel for Madoka is inevitable judging from its success. It's just a matter of when. But knowing Shaft, it will definitely not soon.

LOL, I had totally forgotten about Yuru Yuri. Akarin is to blame. Out of that show, Kyouko is the only one with any sort of remote chance.

Isn't there supposed to be a Touhou anime coming from UFOtable?

Touhou in Saimoe could be overwhelming. Though they did poorly in ISML with that one unofficial anime.

they should have their own official prelim, only one Touhou character allowed as the winner

That's the prob, it's unofficial and ONE episode, not enough to make a staying impression on casuals.

The ufotable Touhou anime was a 10-minute long special. Basically guaranteed to do poorly in saimoe; either way they couldn't have possibly introduced enough characters in such a short time frame to be more overwhelming than say, Saki or even Strike Witches.

Also that was last year, shown in a very private screening. Doubt we'll be seeing it.

It was more of a promo vid, and less of a feature anime.

I hope Saber gets a more justified win in Saimoe next year. I also expect something from Haganai.

Spoiler for Probably a 'good' news for someone:

Heh, next year will be even more interesting, I think they will have the treat K-on has on this year, if the release date is within the period (before June 2012).

Still need to wait when Shaft plans to animate it. Because I'm not sure that Shaft can handle two movies in the same year. Another movie is Kizumonogatari. If Madoka movie will air in 2012, my best guess is that it should be at the end of the year. But if the deadline is June 2012 in order to qualify for Saimoe 2012 then I'm quite sure that it will definitely not meet the deadline. Because Shaft has Nisemonogatari in winter season. And their next project is Kizumonogatari the movie.

Edit:

Looks like it's probably a fake news.

Too bad they ain't gonna feature those past magical girls -- from centuries ago.

According to ANN, HMV's anime department apologized for spreading unconfirmed information on the possibility of a Madoka Magica film in its posting earlier in the day.

Well, in case that Madoka returns to Saimoe. What if (I said if) other magicas drop like flies in round 1 but Homura dominates the tournament? I wonder if people still complain about it.

Spoiler for As for the Madoka Movie in 2012 if it ever happens:

Whether it's a false rumor or not, I expect the movie as an extended version of episode 10 with episode 11 and 12, and will bring all the important elements that would make it more appealing than its TV version. It's like comparing it with how Macross Frontier second movie get a high gross or probably the best comparison is with how Magical Lyrical Nanoha movie is well recieved.

Now with Saimoe 2012 if ever the movie gets released before Summer.
I expect the other three Puella Magi Girls would get assassinated which includes Mami Tomoe with the exception on Madoka Kaname (unless she's paired with a powerful moe character like Yune, Hina "Ro-kyu-Bu!", Fear, or Kobato) and Homura Akemi. Rika Furude and Azusa Nakano both eliminated in round 1. Sakura and Taiga are the only exception of not getting assassinated (I wouldn't consider the Taiga cameo in Ookami episode 8 as her replacement during 2010.)

i'm honestly happy about the film. it's confirmed to be 3 films, making the last a continuation of the madoka series. but there are still some worries in my part. DX

in any case, i expect pMMM to fall in saimoe next year. But i don't think homerun will -grins widely- the domination will be no more but moemura will still stand.

no PMMM in saimoe next year, Mami still won this year XP

-exits-
