There exists tiebreaker rounds for those cases (the only time one plays a west round). And, if anyone, at any moment gets negative points the game automatically finishes. Which brings the interesting question (I'll have to revise the rules for that) of what happens if after someone gets negative points there IS a tie.

Oh BTW, I just saw the subbed version, and when Yumi thanks Saki for the kan I don't think it's because of the possibility to call a chankan (given that you can only ron from a hidden kan when you have a kokushi musou), but because of the new dora indicator.

Yep, usually people don't do that. When you kan, you have a new dora indicator and for someone who has already riichi-ed, if they tsumo/ron, they get to have two reverse doras instead of the usual one. This may result in the person getting more yakus than usual.

And dora indicators are key to Kana's play. There is an understandable reason why she's there. We'll see.

Hahaha. That's assuming she gets to win hands though. She's not going to win many with Saki and Koromo there. Esp. in Saki's case since her hands seem to come together fairly fast.

On other news: the first DVD of Saki was released today.

This blog (NSFW warning) has some nice pictures with differences between the TV and the DVD versions (most of them are also on sankakucomplex).

Saki's "cheating" hand with 15 tiles was fixed, and the censoring in the bath scenes was reduced.
