Anyone who can't hide their true intentions is doomed to fall victim to someone having the drop on them, more or less. Whereas Lelouch hid behind a mask but didn't hide what he planned until the very end (unless you count Zero Requiem, which is something of a mask), Schneizel didn't put himself into play until the very last second.

"Good and evil are merely the front and back of the same card." Really explains the way Lelouch and Schneizel are right now. Lelouch acting evil presumably for good intentions, with Schneizel playing the good guy for very very evil intentions. |
