(L) Genshiken 2nd Series

Going by the preview for the last episode, and the events that happened in 11, there's no doubt that they'll do another series after this, or OVA's.

Sue steals the show again...Couldn't stop laughing when she threw that famous line from KGNE out there at the end. And the not so subtle stalking and flashing was just...haha...

Ogi-chan there pulling off another of her irresistible embarrassed looks was a high point aswell.

i like how they have kept to the story but updated some of the references to more current anime ("a flat chest is a status symbol" made me have to pause so i wouldn't miss what came next i was laughing so hard, and ohno as yoko...)

Wow episode 11 was kick ass i throughly enjoyed it. I was looking forward to it for 2 reasons. SassaharaxOguie screen time and Sue and it lived up to my expectations. Her demner has eased a little when in Sassahara's pressence. This was one of the best chances for them to have some alone time while during that which they are in to. Also, the convo where Sassahara is bashing him self again Oguie kind of in her way gave him encouragement and vice versa. He was right people with talent like hers usually end drawing manga weather they want to or not. I thought my blood pressure was going to go through the rook during her embrassment moment. shes caving i tell you she wont be able to hold in forever. Ono's plan was working and the set up was great. Even with Oguie running into her friends from middle school which caused her some type of psyhcological problem, now either i forgot what that was all about or it was not mentioned so ill do some research on what exactly happened to her in middle school.

The enigmatic Sue stole the rest of her show with her outburst of random anime quotes. The one think i love in anime is when someone is foreigner they always have to point it out in a crowed lol, of course its easy to tell Sue is foreign how natural blonde Japanese girls are there? I was not surprised that she took a liking to Ougie and im not surprised Ougie was creeped out by Sue following her. The bath scene with "a flat chest is a status symbol" had me on the floor god i couldnt stop laughing especially Sue asking for an autograph while openning the manga for all to see LMAO. Then there was Angelas sperm comment at the end i as well am surprised they didnt use a slag term here but it was downright funny.

So sad its almost over i hope we actually get some clouser i will be disappointed if it ends without at least Sassahara and Ogi-chan becoming a couple or at least something resembling it. I kind of wish it could go on just for the Ogiue love i have. One of the best characters this season

sue says "this page is awesome. real hardcore." however the japanese subtitle says (and this is from memory so there might be a slight misquote) "kono peezi, sugoi. honmono da" which means, literally translated, "this page, awesome. genuine article"

Wow, great change from the manga.
They made his job-searching struggles and stress a little more realistic, more relatable, and more dramatic.
Excellent way to end the series here.

Hopefully they'll have a third season or an OVA series to finish the rest of the series.
I'll keep waiting, even if it takes another two years again

Ogiue vector, Yay!

It's pretty good. However, I dont like how the blushing jumps out of her face, it's one of those things that stands out a little too much in a vector, IMHO.

Spoiler for episode 12:

After several more interviews where Sasahara fails, he begins to get desperate, branching out into applying for jobs outside of manga, but finds no success there either. Struck by his repeated failure, he begins to lose a grip on things, not shaving regularly, and even wondering if he shouldn't have joined Genshiken to begin with. He is set straight, however, when he professes his failure nonchalantly to the other members of the Genshiken. Both Kasukabe and Ogiue make their disappointment in him clear, and as a result, he continues his job hunt. (Meanwhile, Kuchiki seems to have taken over Keiko's part completely, badgering the others to go on a trip somewhere.)

Luck finally strikes as he notices an ad in the paper for exactly the kind of job he's looking for, and in the interview, is able to muster great answers for every question they throw at him thanks to his experience in Genshiken. Naturally, the first person he decides to tell is Ogiue, who is in the shower, but decides to go pick up anyway. (The next scene gets called out by many for being overly ecchi, but it's just water dripping onto the floor, you pervs.) Later, in the clubroom, the others congratulate him, while Ogiue reveals that she's already applied for the Winter Comifes, and has some things she'd like Sasahara to look over.

Spoiler for yet to be animated:

She doesn't get in, but gets invited as a guest artist for the Manga Society's doujin instead.

Thus, as the credits begin to roll, we see many of the members at their new jobs, while they banter back and forth about work and such. The End. (For now.)

There's no indication yet of any kind of OVA to finish up the manga material, but I don't really see any reason for them not to. There's still two and a half volumes worth to go, which is even enough to do a third TV season if they so choose. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

how confident is everyone that we will see a 3rd season? Id like to see more between Sassahara and Oguie. In the mean time i will continue with the manga i just started so i have a lot of material to go through

I'm 100% confident. Either that or OVA's, though i know for a fact we'll see a continuation of this. I have even more confidence after see how episode 12 played out.

Going by manga material, i'd say OVA's are the best bet.

Man, I really hope they go for the OVA or third series. I'd like to see Genshiken wrapped up. I've really enjoyed how they adapted the manga thus far...

Oh wow...what a final...
It's rather sad to see everyone growing up from being carefree teens to responsible adults throughout the series but at the same time a very unique experience. Watching sasahara getting so many rejects is one of those fears I have about growing up...realistically scary

This is only the start of Sanahara x ogiue so I dam well hope we get a new season to wrap up this trilogy!
