The staff looks great and Bokurano’s manga it’s completely amazing, yet I couldn’t bring myself to really trust GONZO even if my life depended on it. I’m optimistic enough, though, so we’ll see.

I don't really mind either, you know. I have, say, longtime experience of waiting ages and ages for the manga I like the most (Eden! Argh!) so I'm really used to it *g* So I guess it's a personal thing, I would prefer to be spared of cliffhangers. ^^;

SWEEEET! Since they never really finished the Narutaru anime I never thought a Kito manga would ever be animated again.

This should be pretty awesome.

I'm not really good at "looking at art", but they don't look too bad...but I think the studio who did Narutaru anime did a better job at emulating Kitoh's art style. Still, not too shabby.

I just read all of the current scanlations of Bokurano and damn it's good it's very well written.

I'm not the type of a person that cries when reading manga but Bokurano sure as hell made me depress as to what was happening to the characters.

For the anime looks like they have good staff members working on it just hope Gonzo's animation stays consistent. The thing I'm worried about it's 5 Volumes and still on going several of the other characters stories hasn't been told. So Gonzo will end up making up their own stories for the rest of the characters and also do their own ending... Not exactly looking forward to that part.

BTW What's the released schedule for Bokurano chapters in Japan? Is it weekly, bi-weekly or monthly?

Monthly. It's serialized in the magazine IKKI (for experimental adult manga, mostly).
IKKi has a bunch of weird stuff in it, I'd say it's like a more adult, more avant guard version of Afternoon.

I agree. They don't have as cute a face or as scrawny and boney a body as when Kito draws them.

According to this site, the anime will have its own ending separate to the manga. So it won't be incomplete like Narutaru, but now we're putting it in other people's hands...

Well, actually, no offense to the great Kitoh, but his endings haven't exactly been the best either. Narutaru's ending was horrific, and I mean that in the ultra literal sense. Now, if it purposefully ends with a something ambiguous to force people to read the manga ending, then I'd be mad. But otherwise I'm pretty hopeful.

I admit, I did "o_O" while I was reading Tsurumaru's summaries of the last chapters, and I didn't even see the real thing. But horrific is how I like it, I guess, even if it is "wtf" and far out and crazy.

Ahem... ACTUALLY, _I_ was the one who summarized the final volume. Tsurumaru did 7-11 .

Lmao. Sorr-y!

Thanks though. I wasn't signed up to animesuki at the time, but I remember all the disturbing scans and lengthy volume by volume synopsis of the Narutaru manga. It did nicely to fill the void left by the end of the Narutaru anime. Though I spoiled the plot for my self, I was looking forward to Dark Horse continuing from volume 7 (or wherever the post-anime story began, I remember DH's numbering being a little off).

But they let me down!

It's nice to see that the same members who regularly posted in the Narutaru and Bokurano threads are still here, though.

Okay. Just read every chapter available. If this is made well, it will be the best anime ever existed. It's as good as it can get in the manga form, but animated, it will be... godlike. Not only because of the animation, but the music too... Please, Gonzo, don't screw it up. おねがい。。。

The latest issue of IKKI claims that this anime will air in April. It also includes a bonus DVD with an interview of the director. It's pretty short, but he explains that Kitoh basically gave him complete freedom to do what he wants, EXCEPT for one thing: "No magic!". Everything must be believable and explainable to the viewer, so as to not "cheat" the audience. The director says that Kitoh really emphasized the "rules" of the world, but as for whether the kids live or die... well, that's up to GONZO.

Pretty interesting interview, actually.

I will never forgive Gonzo if they don't kill the kids. Never. If they do that, they'll forever be on my mind as the people who butchered Bokurano. As if they care

But seriously, not killing the kids would spoil Bokurano, surely. If they stick to the manga, I imagine everyone will love the anime. I'm hoping they end episode 1 or 2 with the thing that happened in the beginning of the manga which shocked us =)

EDIT: I haven't read the manga in a while, but I suppose

Spoiler:
