Seriously, now I'm curious to know what life was actually like in there. Because either Kanon's pre-orphanage life sucked the big one or the orphanage itself raped his happy meter. There is no way anyone ever could naturally be so depressed that their eyesight is jaded.

Beato was seriously awesome here. The Tea Party was awesome, her eating the chocolate like that.

And I've gotta applaud Deen for keeping the faces for this arc. They just look so goshdarn epic.

Wonderful, this episode reminded me of why I fell in love with Jessica x Kanon so much. (Yes, in that order.) Aside from my obvious bias for older woman-younger man dynamics, the way that Jessica wanted to reach out to Kanon so bad, only to fall short when he abruptly mentioned her feelings as if he was talking about the weather. As a woman, I wanted to smack him over the head, not over the rejection but how it was pretty clear Jessica affected him to some length and seeing him stomp on it before it could ever grow. Well, Kanon was tuned that way, for obvious reasons, but I look forward to the time when Jessica would smash down that brick wall he constructed, and make the OTP lovers happy.

Beatrice x Battler had long since overtaken the top spot of OTP Umineko pairings for me, but Jessica x Kanon is a force to reckon with as well.

Isn't it great, how in Umineko pairings, women are always the ones to wear the pants in the relationship?
