cinque and Nanami are from earth thats not even an issue but really i hate to ask the question but who cares seriously about the parents at this point does it really matter

Cinque and Nanami's parents have no influence on the story. Leo, Milhi and Couvert still having parents, however, would completely throw the entirety of Dog Days out of whack, as the entire core of the story hinges on the three being -to a degree in Couvert's case- in charge of their countries. None of season 1 would have happened if Leo's mother still lived for example, as she'd just smack her daughter up the head at the ridiculous suggestion that she should wage war on Biscotti just because said daughter had a scary forecast.

Cathing up until episode 3 now, and I bit suprised with how many fan service in there..., is the age rating for the anime increased?

And also, I know it's still early to say this but I think they ship ShinkuXNanami here..., and that's a good news at least for me.

I am. What was the point of that? The series never used to bother doing that. It never needed to. Everyone knew Yuki was big and no one needed to draw attention to it. Especially not with excessive bouncing complete with stupid sound effects, even under circumstances when breasts probably wouldn't even move normally. It's degrading to a character who deserves more respect than that.

Also you just knew they had to find a scene for Eclair to go full jealous rage with this setup. Not a bad move getting Shinku drunk and needing everyone to keep an eye on his passed out self.

It was a bit strange how over the top they were with Yuki's bouncing. Certainly didn't go over the top like that last season. Seems like a pretty odd thing to keep on doing. But doesn't take away from the episode for me. At least they didn't have it going on during her fight scenes.

The action was pretty solid. Shows the growth and development of Shinku's fighting ability. Pushed into a corner and pulling out some impressive moves even without using the hero crystal.

I am disappoint that Sharl has not shown up again yet. Or any of the other new characters in the OP.

I am also disappointed that they seem to have become unable to let the residents of Flonyard move their ears or tails without added sound-effects. Back in season 1 (which I have been rewatching recently) characters could wag their tails or move their ears without needing a sound-effect to point out "HEY LOOK! THIS CHARACTER IS AN ANIMAL-PERSON! LOOK AT THEM MOVE THEIR ANIMAL-FEATURES! ISN'T IT CUTE?! THINK THAT IT IS CUTE!" It's true, they did sometimes have the sound-effects in season 1, but only sometimes: it was not a regular thing. These days if anyone wags their tail you will be alerted to it by noise. If anyone moves their ears, you will be alerted to it by noise. It's... stupid.

I get the feeling that the return of Sharl will be the return of some kind of serious plot. Not surprised she hasn't been around since there probably is a lot for her to be doing right now.

It is a bit disappointing or just plain odd that they have decided to add so many sound effects. I don't really mind the little sounds for ears twitching or anything, but I would be happy if they were gone. Maybe I remember wrong, but even last season seemed to avoid that and just have the 'camera' pull keep focus on whatever tail or ear was twitching without making a fuss about it.

At least it hasn't gotten in the way of the bigger action scenes. Once we start actively interrupting those with silly effects then there is an issue. Right now it's not a big thing (except what they are doing with Yuki, that's crossing the line).

They showed 2 tanned cat-people in Arabic style clothes in the OP. I bet the youngest one is the one involved in this marriage. Although it's hard to clarify it's gender.

I think the sound effects are because compared to the other seasons the action so far is extremely lacking and i think their relying on the fact that fanservice plays a large role in this series so you're also seeing a lot of real cheap fanservice scenes to make up for the fact that most of the episode is dull
