A nice chart indeed, once again a Maeda original anime spawns the most interesting discussion material of the season, hopefully that will mean more animated stuff written by him in the future. After all the vocal AB! naysayers didn't stop Charlotte's creation

So, the one girl rushing in to the sister's school on a limo got past security with an ID (that scared the shit out of the security guard and could only blurt out "mam")? It seems odd that the supposed "authorized" group led by Nao would have to climb the fence to get in....
So either her "benefactor" is not really backing her and sold her out or the girl that appearead isn't the opposing force to her little band of misfits and is rather an alternative group with the "same objective"...

No, death will not stop imouto, she'll just possess/timeshare with idol chan and the dead older sister. Now to find someone with clone technique + copy/paste power lol

She did that because going through the fence is faster instead of going out into the gates then into the middle school gates again, iirc.

I guess that's foreshadowing that Yuu's power isn't just possessing but also copying powers and Speedbro's power would be easier to activate. This would also explain why she ordered him to possess baseball guy after match (and he posessed other 2 guys with powers).

I've also dropped in to MAL yesterday, one guy there really has some interesting finds and theories about the story. The OP for starters has a bunch of interesting keywords spinning around and hidden in translucent colors and light ink. Telepathy is indeed one of them and personally, I'm shooting for the mysterious Otosaka brother as the one with telepathic powers which could then explain the loss of memories suffered by Yuu and Ayumi.

Your theory is sound too especially about Yuu's ability, but there is some suspicions that it might not be copying but looting as suggested by one of the keywords in the OP. It's just my speculation at this point, but looting by the sound of it could have a deeper consequence perhaps stealing and thus stripping the powers from targeted esper? We know the water guy not just pinpoint the location of espers, he also tells us the ability name of that esper. If Nao heard "looting", that could have been sufficient warning to not take Yuu's ability at point blank as simply body takeover.

Well this episode turned dark all of a sudden. I found out that Nao's voice while shouting at the end of the ep to be quite... sexy? It's definitely better than having a girly kyaaaa, I'm all for the alpha girl voice.

one of the points i like in charlotte is which they are trying to avoid a lot of "anime cliches" like harem, like brocon or siscon, many of "otaku" things i really not too much into, i really like how this show is handled, the fact which the mc was dumbed by the girl and no girls are "magically falling in love with mc" and others things.
I totally agree with these two points.

Sometimes I really wonder what things people REALLY expect in this kind of show anyway.

I've already deduced that yandere-that-came-out-of-nowhere from the minute she was introduced early in the episode. Did everybody else not see it too?

The yandere part isn't "surprising" by itself because you could see from miles away the moment they were showing her in a rather moody attitude (hell, even the colours used screamed "gloomy girl").

No, the problem is that the script made use of a character like that solely for drama purpose, hence why it feels utterly contrived.
That character and Ayumi's other classmates for that matter were not even present prior this episode whatsoever, and they immediately were involved with the drama regarding Ayumi's power.

It is simple as that: these characters were pretty much inexistent prior that episode, and then they immediately serve as a catalyst for Ayumi's demise (?).
This is why it feels absurdely forced because their role and purpose were hardly defined outside of being convenient plot device.
It isn't about a surprise factor, much to the contrary: it is exactly because their role was so telegraphed that it is really questionable.

Add that the very convenient circumstances (absolutely no one around, not even teachers in the corridors, Ayumi being able to go through security etc) in that given situation and you have people not pleased by how forced the episode felt.

For some reason, I hope Ayumi has lots of blood after seeing Yusarin. Meanwhile, is it me or this episode has Another vibes in regards to Konishi?

In any case, I hope Ayucchi is safe next week!

That seems like it's becoming one of Ayane Sakura's many specialties - girls whose voices sound cutesy most of the time, but switch to commanding mode when push comes to shove. E.g: Merry Nightmare, Asuka Mishima, Yuzuki Kurebayashi

not full true, the imoto mc dumbed someone was there in the beginner if you forget, she already talked about her new class and someone confessed to her, they foreshadowed it, in earlly episodes.

then that episode not was "out of nowhere", they foreshadow it early then used it to make this episode her dumb confessiona and the guy don't want to give-up.

we even had the mc speaking to itself when he find out who was the person which confessed to his little sister.

Imouto dead? I think its too early for that yet. Unless I saw a corpse, I won't believe it. The girl that shows in the end of the previews episode might have save her and had taken her. She can be used to further the plot later on as hostage or experiment tool. Her ability could be a prized item to be experimented on.

From the opening, perhaps some time leap ?
That would explain existence of the school that protects the esper and how those new characters know the incident of imouto~

very unlikely although Key has the habit of start off as happy and upbeat comedy and then turn around and shit all over it with the second half

But my guess is the "Collapse" ability will create a protective cocoon or something, bottomline is imouto will be alive

also who the hell is that short hair chick that arrived in a cab?

That if their abilities were perfect, but since they aren't it's very unlikely her ability provides any protective shell. But can't say for sure if she is dead, surely her ability is the less useful of the lot, being so powerful, so she is the more expendable even from this point of view.
Also, her reviving through Yusarin, as already suggested, would work perfectly for some drama peak moment later on.
For now I'll go for 50, is dead, 30 hostage for experiments and 20 coma. Even if the coma option is the more likely.

I don't think imouto will dead. Unless they will show her corpse in ep.7 I refuse to believe. No corpse = Not dead.

The imperfection of Ayumi ability maybe the fact that she can only made the ground below her collapse, which means the user will die/injure herself.

Personally, I'd reverse your 50 and 20. That is to say, 50 coma, 30 hostage and 20 dead.
