Rin vs Mashiro, who would be the better cat (loving) girl from JC Staff this season ?

I've been looking forward to this for a while so I'm glad it turned out as nice as it did. The art and coloring are all very nice and the music's great too. I liked the ending song as well, very fitting. The voice acting was nicely done as well. The light novels had great ratings and reviews so this should be a fitting way for me to start the week off.

Somehow i feel that Mashiro is some kind of “Inori fan-service mascot” type character and the MC will get dragged into a bunch of problem involving her antics.

Loved it. Main girl needs more personality though. Hope it delivers.

As a side-note: This had much more budget than Little Busters!.

I don't really think so, Sakurasou just does a good job at hiding its cost savings

Take 3:15-4:55 , there really isn't that much animation in there (apart from the very begining I guess)

This looks like it'll be a fun watch. The character archtypes aren't really anything new, but they work. Here's hoping Shiina gets a bit of depth though, "needs to be taken care of" as your only trait won't really be enough for female lead.

Spoiler for Thoughts on ep 1:

That was nice. Reminded me of early 2000s anime for one reason or another.

More like the vibrant colors of this show gives the illusion of higher budget, and nothing to do with this having a different art team.

I expect we'll see more of such comments soon enough.

Yeah, it seems a fair number of people have also voiced similar impressions.

Those were the days before my time so I wouldn't have a clue

Though the vibrant colors do remind me of madhouse productions (like chihayafuru for example) and the director has been working at Madhouse her whole career so I wonder if there's a link there.

Seems a generic harem with some generic clichè (childhood friend + gay mc + some crazy side characters), but art is very good and plotline is average and fun.

Misaki does have shades of Minori.

I hope she doesn't suck as a character like Minori did in Toradora.

After watching the episode myself... Well, even though I've said all that earlier, I must admit it's REALLY hard not to jump to that conclusion when this first episode of Sakurasou is so damn polished and pretty

As far as first episode goes, this one does a good job introducing and entertaining- How things go from here is anybody's guess, but it would be super lol-tastic if it really end up outshining Little Busters

Go have some Melons, Creampuffs and milkshakes

That reminds me, the one thing I didn't expect was how openly perverted the dialogues could get I mean, 'testicles' in the pilot episode already?! We sure are living in strange times

I remember reading the first chapter of the manga, and colour me confused when Aoyama showed up. Who the heck is this girl? Seems pretty important considering you know, she's part of the reason why Hikari got picked up, but got omitted in that version.

And bah, Misaki trying to get her hands on the MC while Jin is fooling around with lots of girls. There is no justice in the world! They did work wonderfully together after that anime, but still...

Overall, it was actually quite enjoyable. There is no plot to speak of, but the quirky cast works.

Finally, as a nitpick, this doesn't look like JC Staff production. As part of the reason I'm a big fan of them, I actually prefer their 'retro' look like the ones they did in Bakuman and Little Busters. >_>

I actually agree with this, they just used several filters here and there and had unique camera angles (kudos to the director there) but you can still say its jc staff all over it...
