The only really enjoyment of the game I got in Da2 was killing the dragon.

I'm looking forward to DA III - even though I couldn't bring myself to play DA II for like, even half an hour. This is a very good chance for Bioware to regain the trust of their fans.
Hopefully, it doesn't go overboard in the graphical department. I can't upgrade my laptop If Bioware just gets the story and characters(which is what most will be looking for ) spot on then I'm sold. All other things are irrelevant to me.

Aren't they using the BF3 engine for this and also next mass effect?
The gameplay of both dragon age series sucked with very little/no balance with next to non-existent itemization to top it off. Story is the only reason why I played DAII and it completely destroyed my expectations. Granted, I actually think the story of DA:O is also lacking. I liked the different starts of the story, but the lack of a proper closure to the hero's own story has always frustrated me. |

Well we got a trailer now, game is still a year and a half away, so let me stock up on provisions for the long walk.
EDIT: Release date is fall 2014.

For me, DA2 was kind of awful, I had liked DA:O for the visual novel aspects (the romance, etc) as much as anything. It was almost like a Western version of a JRPG. Most of that seemed absent from DA2 and since the group control combat system is an antagonizing mess (I ended up micromanaging every battle because the AI had them killing me or each other no matter how I tweaked it).
Well, we wait and see.

I liked DA2's story in that it disallowed taking a third option; it forced you to make hard choices and then kicked you in the face and laughed, making the bad shit happen anyway.
I also liked the aesthetic shift from DAO to DA2--the elves actually look fey and otherworldly, rather than simply humans with pointy ears. The rest of the game is a mess, though. It reminds me heavily of Morrowind--it's almost unplayable without mods.

What happens with Dragon Age reminds me of what happened with Devil May Cry
Devil May Cry 1 it a success and everyone love that game and Then came Devil May Cry 2 and most people did not like it and then Devil May Cry 3 came and it was a great success and it Better than the two before it this is what I hope happens with dragon age 3 |

No more "isolated" extra content. If they are going to release content packs and/or expansions, I hope they can all be a part of a single package, and not some "quickie" adventures that play apart from the main game.

I played the first game the day it came out, and pretty much liked the game and story very much, but the ending was very poor and felt extremly rushed. Its like they never realized how popular the game would become for future games. I've heard the 2nd game was bad and I have avoided it like a plague.
So I am interested to see what this new game would bring. They do have good lore to work with.

I hope they pull off DA3. I'm still not going to buy it right out of the gate, but will keep an eye to see how the responses are to it.
Hopefully they have a more likable cast. Really the only character from DA2 that I gave a damn about was Varric.

If you're going to recycle terrain, do it creatively (i.e. Skyrim). Let me equip and manage my party members. ACTUAL REAL TIME COMBAT. STOP GIVING ME RPGs WITH MENU/CLICKY PSEUDO TURN BASED CRAP. Give me something visceral--if I want to hit an enemy with a spell, I need to aim it. If I want to block an attack, I need to block it. More Mass Effect, less Baldur's Gate, please.

DA2 isn't real-time. It's "MMO Real Time" which is not actually real-time. Everything is determined by dice rolls. You don't have to actually swing your sword, aim your spells, or time your blocks like you do in Skyrim or Dark Souls or Monster Hunter.
DA2 plays like WoW or similar MMORPGs. You stand still and mash buttons and wait for cooldowns.
