I had the misfortune of seeing the movie before I read the books. The movie almost made me not want to read them, but when I actually did, Iwas surprised that I actually liked them. The movie was terrible though.

Movie sucked bad. The only thing cool about it was the girl's armor, with that Chinese feel to it.

reading the book at the moment.. movie wasnt good at all i watched it before i started reading the book..

the book is a lot beter than the movie.. it was all cramped into ,, 90 minutes i believe it was? let alone the final battle which was supposed to have a huge army... you only see the size of one pattalion fighting and wham it was over >.>

The book is like guy took Star Wars, added a health dose of dragons and "I don't know how to write a f*cking novel" and then turded out "Eragon".

I will surely catch it on DVD I didnt check the movie during regular release . The story is based on mythos which is a plus point but reading previous posts my enthusiasm has died down. Call it the curse of L.O.R.

I haven't watched the movie...but then again, who would want to watch a movie when you already know that it's gonna suck?

Thankfully, I read the book first, and then Eldest, the second book of Paolini's Inheritance Trilogy. I only have two main criticisms of the books that Paolini wrote when he was only 15 (but published when he was 18): the originality and the prose.

The story is about three-out-of-five-er, but the mistakes within plots and the uses of deus ex machina just leaves a bad taste in your mouth after you read it.

Despite that, I'm waiting for the final book of the Trilogy.

If I may describe the movie in one sentence, "It was a series of moving pictures with people and dragons against nice scenery." That's bout all I took away from it, really.

The dragon was really pretty though. Personally I like my dragons more on the scary side, but they even managed that at a couple of different points.

I haven't seen the movie yet. But I was still willing to give a chance until I saw the review where they said something about the movie being #1 in something and there was a large '1' in the movie background with the dragon flying by. Seriously, that mave the movie cheesy and rather hard to take seriously in any way. If the movie was a real kids movie like Ice Age or something than maybe. But a movie like Eragon should have gone with a different angle.
