this episode nice, when Hoshino crying and sad to tell Kouichi the truth, during this part was nice, the feeling is there. Kouichi promise to go to find Hoshino but long distance relationship - GOOD LUCK !

Mao is now more close to Kai? Not sure is Mao real feeling or what.

I just hopping Mao X Kouichi, although im not sad Kouichi with Hoshino as well, but now 13ep, still got half to go, so not sure who will stay alive in the end.

Eriko moving forward now, Kazuki have 2 gal love him at the same time, damn lucky. I also hope Eriko end up with Kazuki

Now i really cant wait for next episode, hoping it faster air, still got about a week for next episode.
about next episode, it about the experiment Kazuki and Eriko, it look like Kazuki will miss the date(maybe?) it say something like it same day as the football match.

Another thing was, new OP was nice and the ending was nice too. Cant wait for the ending song.

Hello. No subs yet? I watched this episode at 5 am, was almost completely asleep and understood about 80% of the talks.
Speaking of animation quality. As bad as it might be, i think there's an attemptto improve character design. Maybe its my imagination but Asuka and Mao look nice in this episode. Also they used a lot of closeup shots which probably added to the effect.

Sorry I'm a bit in a hurry so I didnt quite read the previous messages. Something about a douche? Does it mean its better to keep distance from Kai because he makes wrong impression on people? He was actually trying to do something nice in this episode, the best he could.
I donno about the pairings though. I still think Kouichi and Mao would be the best.
Also it was a bit awkward to see Hoshino and Koichi being quite close to each other. The hugs, you know. Even though she told him she was moving, its strange. He acted like she was the only one for him and yet didnt confess! Actually they both had the thought in mind (Koichi for one, said to himself that "its better to make things clear", during lunch).
I'm quite aware of the fact that they used ideas from the game only here they're putting things upside down.
Geez, Asuka is really serious about Kazuki, to the point she got a bit angry when they talked on the stairs (kaidan de hanasu toki ni okotta kana, kana? - higurashi, huh?)

Yep, especially taking into account the new opening (who was she kissing).
Actually she dwells upon it more when she sits on the bench ("then there's a chance for me").

you beat me to it! Kazuki was a supporting character in the game. the anime split the girls between the two boys to make it less of a harem anime and more about love triangle.
that is the problem with wikipedia, anyone can go and messed up the info just for the heck of it

After watching the episode one more time, I think Mao is just feeling grateful toward Kai. She realized he understand how she feels and that was a show of affection because he helped her. If she had felt feelings for him they would indicated it with the holding honds or arms. I just realized that in most anime when the girl leans her head on a guys shoulder is for support and friendship. It has been so long since I saw this used in anime that I forgot.

well, its a nice innovation to the tired harem love anime dorama.

I hope to see more of these, preferably with three leads, and make them female so more mix of a bisexual theme! Nothing like throwing in ambiguous fate into a normally hetro-drama!

Is that where part of the "hoo haaas" came from, from fans of the original game? Now I think that it is a brilliant idea to have kazuki as a second male lead as it sure beats the hell out of the usual harem formula
As well as having the advantage of seeing two stories instead of one...maybe 3 if mao and kai gets a bit deeper...or even 4 if hiiragi starts to move as well.

I think that guy means that his personality just stinks being the "unapproachable" type. Not at all imo :3
Between kouichi and hoshino I really think that they get each other's feelings even without confessing. But ofc having an official confession would just seal everything...but in that case it would only be harder for mao to step in if the pairing is official - bad news for mao fans
And that wasn't anger...it was emotion!

Excellent episode. Complex relationships and feelings well portrayed: Hoshino takes the initiative; Mao likes them both; Kai can see she likes Kouichi; all Kouichi's feelings for Hoshino come boiling out; Asuka sees she still has a chance and will take it. Hirohashi Ryou is doing a good job as Asuka. And Koshimizu Ami (Hoshino) can really emote. She does a great job here, and did a nice job as the male protagonist in ep1 of H2O Footprints in the Sand. We'll hear her in her third current show, Spice and Wolf, tomorrow.

Personally, I think Kai might be a cut above all the other guys in character, if not in sparkling personality. He has an ambition and he's working toward it. He likes Mao and he's not afraid to tell her. She says she's not ready to reply and he doesn't force her. He's both masculine and sensitive.

You might as well drop it Kaoru Chujo, most of the people here see him as a dull boring character with no personality --- they're pretty much just not happy with him being close to Mao.

Don't beat on Kai too much, he is necessary for Mao to stay nice and not go the way of Sekai from school days :P. If Kai wasn't around Mao probably would have gone on "practice" mode with Kouichi.
