Actually, if the similarities between the name Kyon and K-On didn't exist, Chihiro probably wouldn't have been doing K-On, since we wouldn't have noticed it. It all was thanks to a 4chan post that said "Haruhi where?" with the title picture and "What is this K-On crap! Give me Haruhi!" And the main character reminded me of Haruhi. XD So, it's good that K-On has similarities in name. ^.^

I'm hoping that the BS-TBS is going to broadcast this in HD. They're doing a typical show that'd get a Blu-Ray (Pandora Hearts), and THIS is getting one too. They're also changing the name of the channel to BS-TBS. Maybe they'll up the airing quality as well? ^.^

I didn't even know the existence of this Anime (LOL) until a few days ago when I came across a thread in a local forum talking about this Anime and most people seemed to like it very much, especially the ED. I ended up watching it, and while it isn't really as great as some people said, considering that there isn't really any very outstanding elements in the first episode, it still looks good so far and I think it has the potential to be a good Anime. I think I will keep watching.

KyoAni adds their spin on the designs if you compare the other versions from different studios of the shows that they've produced (Kanon, Air, even FMP). Toei's Kanon isn't less or more faithful to the original, just different.

Guitar isn't an easy instrument.

It's nothing like playing an actual guitar. If you gave someone who had no idea what a guitar was a rough idea of what one looks like and does, and told them to make a toy out of it, you'd get the GH controller.

After a season of Minami-ke with the bakayaro-ness of Kana it seems my liking for baka girls has turned to Ritsu.

You guys may like Mio because of her looks I like Ritsu for her ambitious idiocy.

the Mio camp = in for the looks
the Yui camp = in for the moe

The other two haven't given their full appeal yet to the viewers...so we shall see where they end up.

Tsumugi is pretty much Miyuki in Lucky Star (seems so). It's hard to imagine that she will have a really dedicated fan base of her own lol

The only difference I see is that she's not the clumsy type like Miyuki. Plus no glasses.

I agree with Vandakiara and Ithekro earlier about Mio.

Spoiler:

For cuteness, definitely Yui just because of what she does and how she acts. I like her character for that.

But, for beauty and personality, definitely my heart is for Mio. She seems to be the "rock" in her friendship with Ritsu, and I'm surprised she tolerates her at all. XD (Especially after tearing up her club application... lol)

Plus, I liked the ending sequence with Mio.

Whoa. I kind of had a feeling that Mio would become popular after reading the manga. I bet Mio fans will be happy with the tiny fanservice she'll show later on, if they animate it My first impression of Yui in the anime was that she's adorably strange. She's cute but really odd like some unknown little furry creature. o_O

Can't wait to see more of Yamanaka sensei later on
