Hey, after forcing all 31 of Negi's students down our throats in the last three episodes, it's nice to see an episode that, while it does contain all 31 students, focuses primarily on Negi, his main Ministra Magi (aka those that have made a Pactio with him in the manga) and another student in the 3-A homeroom (in this case, Ayaka).

Who knows, maybe SHAFT is prepared to suggest that another season of Negima?! is in order. Whatever it is, with <10 episodes, I doubt that we would explore the enormous cast members in any kind of sufficient manner (Legend of Galactic Heroes size casts should get to me, at least 2 seasons to tell the grand tale).

I enjoy how this episode focuses on Ayaka and Asuna actually. I wonder what SHAFT is going to pull next time...

I'd almost bet that SHAFT/Shinbo is laying out the groundwork for a multiple season run of Negima!? There's certainly enough material - basically it depends on the merchandising (yeah, yeah, but I'm hoping for figurines of Kaede, Mana, Setsuna, and Ku Fei ....).
Given shows like "those others that never seem to end and we don't know why" - this one could tell little stories for quite a long time. They just need to start selling stuff

One thing about episode 16 that really stood out for me is this image:

Oy Negi...

testing my patience? most definatly is...imo this ep served no purpose at all (besides the fact that it talks about asuna and Ayaka being really good friends...i a way ~) also it pains me to see that the humor is getting less and less funny...just hope that some plot can go underway soon or ill be tearing my hair out by the time this ends >.<

One more thing worth mentioning: during the scene of Asuna in the kitchen, did anyone else notice the "Yoakena cabbage" on the counter? ^_^

The reason why you probably missed it is because, like the "Pedobear" sign in episode 9, the cabbage was partially "cut off" in the "TV Tokyo" version, with it not being totally noticeable until the "widescreen" version. I know because I didn't realize the cabbage myself until someone posted a picture of it on 4chan.

um...no.

i was waiting to see how they were going to re-do the signs. I also wonder if a different translator did this episode, I didnt like some of the literal translations, but overall good job as usual.

Yeah, rather a supprise after all this time. Unfortunatly, not much of an episode so I only gave it a 6 out of 10. About the best thing was that at least they kept the appearances of the stupid frog and cat to a minimum.

There were some pretty funny moments in this episode, Chizuru ridiculing Chisame, Yuna playing with her Tank in the dirt, Ku Fei's conversation with 'God' and finally Chizuru trying to persuade poor Natsumi to drink vinegar.
