Reflecting on himself, Godou could not argue any more.

Can i take this as a foreshadowing meaning that once he gets married (probably to Erica) the harem will dissolve? or do we have enough proof in the later novels that he will be taking a different path...

I mean Godou is a Campione and he fights alongside the girls, which should strengthen their relationship with him to deeper levels while his grandfather was just a playboy.

Either way i'm really enjoying the read, keep up the great work!!

Although Godou may not usually act on his desires because of "common sense", when he lost "common sense" in volume 9 he basically became Issei and Vali's love child. He wanted to kiss all the girls because it was more fun that way and was a extreme fighting manaic at the same time. Based on his behavior without common sense one can infer that subconciously Godou is actually a playboy and a fighting junkie. Not that he will ever admit of course. Just from his subconcious desire we can infer that he would accept no less then a harem. We can also infer that he would gladly get into more fights no matter what bullshit he spouts about him being "peace loving" and "normal". Truly a fearful campione.

his gramps is a total playboy. In his youth, he had an affair with a married women and even skipped out on school to visit geishas (during HS years). Even in his later years, there are still middle-aged woman who still yearn the old dude.

Nope, it's the other way around. He could only become a campione because of his mentality. If even one shred of his body had given up searching for victory when fighting Verethragna, he would've been toast... literally. (by the way, how about calling Verethragna V-tan?)

Rather than fighting, Godou has a Michael Jordan-like competitiveness, which directly relates to his iron-will in the face of tough situations. He enjoys the feeling of being pushed to his limits and after he became a Campione, he likes it when there are people who can give him a challenge. This feeling was evident as early as his baseball days when he played the most important positions at catcher and cleanup hitter. As a catcher, he could study and look for any weakness to exploit. As the cleanup hitter he was responsible for getting the top of the order hitters back home. Even during those days, he had an elite ability to focus in crucial moments.

While this isn't straight out communicated to the readers, the author consistently notes his competitiveness and focus throughout the series. His competitiveness is also normally hidden from the readers because while Godou is fighting, he's normally talking about peace this peace that. But as Luo Hao said during their bath scene together, when Godou finishes the talk and throws down the gauntlet, he's a lion.

It's more appropriate to say that his competitiveness lie in his subconciousness, he is a Pacifist because in logical thinking fighting should be avoided, but when he's start to fight, his competitiveness appear as part of his personality along with his give up in trying to reason with his opponent, his competitiveness become the only thing drive his action and thus result in him being,as Luo Hao, Erica said , a lion.

It would be weird though because you have Erica as the main female lead for the first 1/4th of the story- deceiving viewers that it's not a harem- and then all of a sudden introduce 2 girls in volume 2 and then a 4th one at the end.

Godou meets Yuri pretty early and there's some obvious sexual tension there so that's two girls in volume 1-3 that's aiming for Godou. Then there's Doni who's introduced early. Not sure if that would attract more fans.

Well, I'm referring to the 3,11,1 start (assuming the anime starts from the beginning). Yuri is introduced in volume 2, which is chronologically the 4th volume. That is three whole volumes of animation without any other female lead other than Erica. An unsuspecting viewer who walks in might think that this is a pure 1 and 1 romance rather than a harem.

Oh that's what you meant. In that case then Toni would actually be introduced before Yuri. Wow, that's sure to catch yaoi fangirls attention. Although I think there's a high chance it might stick to a volume by volume case. Even then it's already established that Godou's a chick magnet fairly early on so it won't surprise anyone if he starts attracting girls.

The Goat is equal to the Stallion and Boar in terms of destructiveness but their use requirements and types of damage are different.
On thinking about the requirements, the abilities when activated give him the ability to counter the weakness of the situation he's in OR give him an advantage based on various settings ie Knowledge is power..literally and figuratively for Godou

for a guy who says he is not a natural disaster / king of calamity sure ends up trashing a lot of national monuments.. :X (i am wondering if the author was inspired by Vash the Stampede)
Regardless of the point if its his fault or not.. its his moves which are the direct consequences of these destruction, and not the enemy.
