Wait, on the previews at the end of 29, it said Maka wouldn't be in this episode. Does this mean they're not going to show Kid's party? I was really looking forward to that...

No, it's going to be Kid, it's just going to be all Kid. It's going to be a character special on Kid (and presumably the Thompson sisters), so to speak.

I know the whole little Sahara train arc thingy focuses on Kid, but beforehand I was hoping they'd show the party that was mentioned earlier...

They'll show the party next ep, it was in the preview. They just scrambled some scenes, looks like.

Yeah seems they just decided to move things around to fit differently. All Kid this week and the party+Chrona stuff will go next week.

Spoiler for Ep30:

Good to get an adventure for Kid and company. The train chase was pretty fun overall. Kid having to pull skate tricks since there were some great hills was full of laughs .

But part of Kid's story definitely is dark stuff concerning his father. As usual he isn't getting much of the full story. Instead its enemies that are informing him of stuff he's completely oblivious to. Before it was the Kishin being in Shibusen and this time its the connection between Eibon, the demon tools, and kids father. In the end the informant is suspiciously finished off by Sid before he can say anything else. Didn't finish the guy because he was a threat to attack in that condition. The dirty secrets of Shibusen continue to be hidden.

One of the major things is again related to Medusa. Seems like she knows more than just about Asura. Checking out an important level 4 book right on the eve of her plan when she wouldn't be coming back to return it. Now she must pay....her library late fees . Know Kid would like to play the field the same and not pull the family card. But considering the dark secrets are related to his father can't blame him for doing whatever he can for some answers. Sadly with that book no longer an option he'll have to go another route.

to see the Reunion Express story animated, I am still confused as to how Bones intend to conclude the series if they continue to follow the manga practically to the letter (give or take some scenes and re-structures) Have I missed something?

They kept everything about the mission on the desert from the 2 chapters plus they added the lil thing in the library after that. The party is going to be next week and they will still be going by the manga, since it will be about how Crona sets up the insanity snake for Stein to drink. Judging by the title there will be the "Crona crying in her/his room", so another whole chapter animated.

Personally I've been counting on a second series, considering that:
- FMA ogt a second series
- SE is sponsored by Square-Enix, and they love to make as much money as possible from something that's big and they got the funds for it.
Also, considering the pace, they could be right before the prologe to Baba Yaga's Castle at about episode 40. I say they'l detour a bit right before or right after the current manga arc.

I wasn't really looking forward to this episode (random train excursion plus Kid isn't too interesting) but they really cranked up the suspicion/conspiracy feeling several notches. I'm much more interested in this subplot than I was before. Good episode (not great though).

They had him mentioned last ep all though the speed subers called him Avon even though his name was in english on the page Sid recovered.

LOL at Patty, she's normally the one that doesnt freak out, but heat does this to a person XD Liz at the "normal" one was funny. Nice Kid-centric epi, I liked this in the manga espc the end when Kid puts it together.

Next epi is gonna be fun~~
