I guess it could be taken as a sign that Kid may have to buck up and finally show the same growth rate as Black Star.

If Shinigami dies, I'd like to see his soul. What a Shinigami's soul looks like. Not only that: but...why didn't they show Medusa's soul when she died? Strange...

(I'm not suggesting she's alive.)

Also: It would be really nice to see what Shinigami Sama looks like outside of his Reaper Cloak.

Sigh: I haven't even read the manga. I heard that Black Star is even cooler in the Manga. So omg, ...I have to do that asap.

When it comes to Kid, I think he needs to deal with his obsessions and handle what the world is actually like rather than what he wants it to be (so this could be said for many characters in the show...).

But there's not much to go on on where that would lead to for him; we don't know what shinigami are capable of. Their name suggests they are personifications of death, but in practice we have a father and son intent in various degrees and methods on maintaining order in the world.

would have preferred kishin to not get all and bulky, because man the fight between shinigami and kishin when he was released was really badass. Hoping we'll get an excellent climax and considering the first op, and allusion to a crumbling castle as all three, kidd bs, maka duke it out with kisshin, makes me one happy camper.

How a perfect death for kishin would be like is....
Maka,BlackStar,Kid tries so hard that it breaks Kishin's barrier. (All the bad guys are now convinced to join Shibusen, eg, immortal, mosquito, mifu etc since their leader died ) So every single person at the scene from Shibusen comes jumping down unleashing their move at Kishin when the barrier breaks, *Kishin is hurt badly!*, finally Shinigami comes alone with the final move, death chop to finish him once and for all

hmm, 8/10

why? because the show its in its very last run and they are not rocking my world..

The BG music for this ep was a lot better, I felt the mood, but there's one thing I think that has gone downhill from the first few eps and up until now... and that issue is the action/fighting scenes..

I dunno about you, but did you find the battle against the kinshin any good? It's like in slow motion, and nothing very big/amusing happens.. When something big is going down they always stop the action for the character to "charge/load" the frekin atack, killing the moment..

Thats now how things were in the first eps.. action was rly cool looking and fast paced.

About the character's charisma.. well.. giriko and justin are starting to go downhill for me, and so is maka (wich I loved in the beggining) and soul (this one I always though it was a bit tasteless except for the dark room scenes, but now even those scenes feel empty... incomplete..)

Kid got some of the love I had for him in this ep.. he looked badass a few times, but I cant stop saying that Black Star is becoming the show.. He is, by far, the most charismatic character in the series.. followed maybe by stein, shimigami, medusa, mifune, free (god I miss him, I want him actually doing something, now just a frame per show) and chrona.

well.. lets see how this goes down with the last 2 eps.

With the new set of episodes they were able to "prepare" the show in a way that big things, awesome things, FUCKING HUGE THINGS can happen. I hope that every single one of these possible souleatergasmic moments happen! if not, I'll drop a tear in the end, and delete the show (except the awesome start of the series) from the HDD (and I never do that...)

again.. lets see how it goes, I wish I can give a 10/10 for the last 2 eps

Okay this episode make me interested once again. I haven't watched the anime for a month so I have to skipped 3episodes , but oh well.

Considering that only 2episodes to go , it is really nice, especially the animation. Won't comment on the plot though , since I enojoyed anime and manga in different ways. Well yes , shounen-typical anime , but if I have to compare it with the other shonen animes in my personal opinion , still very cool. (except BONES used the re-used scene. wtf. -_-" )

Well if BONES tried to be more creative but it turned to be so-out of character , I'd prefer a story like this. They can't follow the manga after all , it's too risky. As for the other characters -- Marie , Stein , Chrona etc had enough roles in this anime.

It's getting more serious , but I see there's stil a little bit humour. LOL.

@Outsmart : but I have to agree with you about the Kishin fight thing. It's no goo-- no no , it's not very good. It's turned out like Bleach , saying some words , bla bla bla , I'll protect him/her , etc etc , he has no wounds -_-" (yes that makes me 'wtf it imitates what I don't like about Bleach') I like the ep1's fight. It's very effective.

But the animation is still good. I'm now curious about the black blood. Hahaha.

2eps more. I expect more than 'Maka cs defeated Kishin with their ultimate skills . The end'

NB : oops sorry Bleach fans. I don't mean to start a flame or sumthin'

Poor Maka, her character started out so interesting - and now she is sort of bland. I think maybe it's because her character is actually too balanced. Despite all the Soul-related drama (now that's one underused character, he's potentially so mysterious and yet the only thing about him we are shown is that red room thing which turns predictable early on) in this episode she gets outshined by both Kid (who is in rare cool mode due to all the silent manly angst) and Black Star (who displays charisma befitting a true action star, pardon the pun).

I liked their situation, though. Yes, it's not original, but it is a classic. Also exciting. Also dangerous. Also promising. We'll see how it goes.

Spoiler for episode: Basically Maka, Black Star and Kidd go into the big vortex of doom the Kishin made and lots of fighting ensued. Little demon got big and like.. ate Soul. That was kinda freaky. Now Soul is like, half ded and Maka goes all ZEN INTO HIS MINNDDD obviously. Then there was that freaky scene with the staircase that was kinda trippy, and she ends up finding Soul in some room and the ep ends. So now its Kidd & B*S vs the Kishin. Next week: Maka will prolly screw over the world by opening some box. Plus, something freaky is gonna happen to Kidd. Mebbe its Sanzu-line connecting tiem? 8D

But I wouldn't put it past Bones to add them in this late in the day, if only because it would give Kid the power-up the structure kinda demands but he's so far not got. Either way, we know from spoilers that something's going to happen to him. Sounds like the black blood issue could actually be fun.

Especially since its just his cloak lying there, maybe theres a naked human form shinigami-sama running around somewhere. The only reason im hoping its the sanzu lines is because i dont want Kidd to magically transform into a clone of his father :\ but the end of the preview definitely gives away that something big is going to happen to him.

O.o I mean that is fricking sephiroth's sword we have there And once again I say that this is quite a nice (different) adaption from the manga. No hard feelings at all if they continue like this all the way to the end, at least we have an "alternate" closure from the manga. Asura grew big and strong after eating Arachne's soul so much so that he doesn't even need to block those blows. The devil in Soul's body finally did something by eating him and now it seems like he is luring Maka into some trap. Also reminded me that Maka entered the last point before Asura's room by jumping heedlessly down a staircase. At least this time she's looking where she's going. Not impressed with the fact that the three groups survived as long as they have against Asura, but it was to be expected.

As Shiroth mentioned above, Black Star and Kid can stop a blast from Giant Kishin when one from Little Kishin tore apart Shinigami and Death Scythe? The whole giant Kishin thing's really prototyped and lame, as well as the fact that the three kids are locked in there, alone, of course. What the heck is everyone else doing? Why does no one seem to care about the dying Shinigami any more? Stein, Marie, Crona - really cool characters, but they were so underused in the anime, as I'm pretty sure their subplots are over. I think SE's probably going to end pretty uncreatively - the kids defeat the undefeatable Kishin and save the world. __________________

So obviously it doesnt matter how amazingly powerful Kidd gets, they're still gonna lose. You don't think they'd kill off Kidd would ya? I mean.. especially all the crap he's been through already with the not-so-shocking eibon revelation and his dad kicking the bucket.
