Oh just right now , it came to my mind a really good question .. In Edolas Faust was Jellal's father right ? When Natsu came told to Makarov (Gramps) that he might be Faust in that world ... So it means that Makarov (Gramps) has a child named Jellal in Earthland ? So Jellal is Makarov's kid?!

It's not relavant, the anime just thought to toss a herring like that. It's an interesting thought, but not something to mentally stew over...
In other news ..... GILDARTZ!! Anyway, I loved the episode. I'm glad that the studio is padding the fights or else we can easily get through 4 chapters per ep and that's bad. In a fight like Team Cana vs Team Fried, it really didn't matter overall how the fight progressed since it's a low-tier fight. Natsu vs Gildartz, however, is a high-tier fight so they have to stay close to how was done in the manga, throwing in a few more moves and exchanges to flesh it out. And I'm sticking with 'z' over 's' for Gildartz because I like my xtremely kool letterz.

Off to S-class exam. Melting on the way LOL
Finally on the island. Everyone picked their route. Lucy & Cana were sure out of luck (at first).. but the battle was funny though! ^^ Natsu got Gildarts in his route... now that's gonna be an interesting fight!

good episode, I liked the way they extended the fight.
wonder how Natsu will handle Gildarts, I'm hoping to hear a new and awesome track during their combat to be quite honest, I don't want a new opening. There are many surprises and epic moments in this arc and knowing how spoilerish FT's openings are... |

The amount of cleavage in this latest episode has reached epic proportions and in particular the growth of Lucy's aforementioned capacity has been quite generous lately so nothing surprises me any more on that front.

Wow, Gildarts is a beast! Compared to all the mages we have seen so far, Gildarts just outclasses all of them combined. I wonder if he is the strongest mage in Earthland?
Also, it seems that Fairy Tail is adopting the One Piece approach, with the first 4 minutes devoted solely to recaps and the opening credits. I was not too happy with it in One Piece, but the pacing in this episode was rather good. Not much else happens in this episode. We get Kana and Lucy fanservice, introductory fights for Erza's and Mirajane's opponents, and the rest was on Gildart's and Natsu's fight, with good flashbacks of their earlier times together. I do really feel sorry for Natsu in the end. To be overwhelmed and feel powerless against an undefeatable force really feels hopeless. At least now we can be assured that Natsu will grow exponentially stronger soon.

I think this 4 minute recap had more to do with this episode being the first real episode of the new season. People who might have tuned out on previous eps might have been curious in the new op & end songs. I don't think they'll do that recap for any of the eps here on out.
Oh and Gildarts. Oh man what a fantasitic ep. Need to start a new poll asking "Seriously folks, did you cry by the end of the ep or not? Tell the truth!" Haha. |

I am pretty sure it will be easy to motivate Juvia. All Erza has to do is mention Grey in some way or form, and it will motivate her to no end. I am expecting all the ones battling with the S-Class of Fairy Tail to somehow make it through their respective battles.
What is curious to me, however, is with Gildarts there, how could the enemy of this arc have any chance? I bet they will somehow contain him or teleport him first. Could it be that the magic council will have a hand in this arc? They all appear like corrupt politicians in the earlier episode.
