@zero: it would carry the properties of both weapons if the bullet used can generate a magnetic field that can attract and retain high reactive charged particles and ions. It's like burning gooey plasma on the outside and crunchy metal center on the inside.

@eras: it could have been worse. All your copies of that chapter could'ver inexplicably disappeared.

I don't meant properties in engineering sense, but in practical effect.

The reason Ugachi look like energy weapon is because it burns through the air, and the lack of visible projectile made it even more obvious (hundreds of metal droplets). The musket at least has visible flame trail behind a glowing projectile.

The heat effect is accidental, the firepower came from the kinetic. It was true that enormous heat is used to propel them, but it's still the OOMPH that's more important.

Of course, anything move at such speed TURN physical object into plasma on impact, including the flying molecules known as air, hence the flame trail.

More than on impact, it should be disintegrating in midflight already. Solid slugs of railguns have that problem with air resistance. Not sure how having a plasma coat already on would help so maybe a third option of going full energy based is best. If not, you need to be firing one huuuuuuuuuuuge slug.

Indeed, slug durability should be taken into account. I have read several paper on it, and realize that there's always engineering limitation due to properties of real life metal.

Test railgun managed to push Mach 7 or something, and the bullet had to be extremely slim and sharp to minimize abrasion. This, by the way, assuming the projectile didn't snap and explode midair indeed.

Overall, I'm a bit murky about applying this concept, but then again, short range particle beam weapon with worse recoil than giant rail gun only made as much sense as it is.

Just curious, does one's marital status affect her chances of being enrolled into the Academy? Let say she's already engaged to someone prior to enrolling, or planned to be engaged during her time in the Academy.

Engagement doesn't do anything more than dating does, actually it's better because that means the relationship is sanctioned by their respective parents.

Marriage though, is MUCH more problematic. A source of drama and humor in MANY high school marriage stories.

I'm actively expanding into Athena's storyline as I write. The overall story arc is centered around the "Athena" entity but the whole story progresses relatively deep through each of the four main OCs.

Starting out with Inami, there'll be one for Tsurugi, Jinrai and Gerald, in that order. An attempt to make the characters... not so shallow, so to speak.

Yeah, it was odd, to say at the least. It's not a specialist unit but amalgam of multiple I.S. technology, so I don't know what to comment.

I think this gave me an idea, if ridiculously stupid and OOC. To protect both of them, FemIchika and Ichika is officially 'engaged' -FemIchika is as much a chick magnet-. When asked how exactly this could happen, Chifuyu said she's drunk (blatant lie no one believed).

I know, I know. In universe this would not be a problem though, it's the fandumb that will cause a ruckus (of course, you could always ignore them, which is a wise choice)

The Stygian Gospel is supposed to be a genuinely unmanned incarnation unlike the Silver Gospel where the KO-ed Natasha Fairs is still inside during its fight with Ichika and co.

Protecting someone by getting them engaged. While that would work, I can also agree why it would be OOC given Chifuyu's... excuse.

Hmm, let me think of more plausible scenario.

In any case, it'll be more plausible to have him stick with Tate since Houki, even as developed character will not bother until asked.

(Unless Aries asked, a reformed Houki will agree in tsundereish way)

And that's not even getting into the other harem. But I knew you can pull that.

More or less the actual excuse is to put a tight bind on male Ichika (which she place a distrust of), but even then that's quite farfetched, especially since it involves her dearest sister.

Turning the whole IS into its own manifestation, I like.

Reason I cranked up its power as such because it's meant to serve as one of the arc bosses in Athena, so it needs to at least fight like one.

Though she could train him better than even Chifuyu could in my initial idea. Aries' style will completely shift in this regard into more free form since he has no basic skills and Tate herself doesn't seem to sport a specialty while instead holstering an all around ACE type statistics.

Godlike teacher doesn't meant godlike training effectiveness. Inb4 refer to Chifuyu and her instant power up regiment, not beneficial in the long run (Chiufyu shape Ichika according to her standard, which doesn't work)
