I liked this episode a lot. Finally we got some fighting that involved characters that were moving. Not just standing still while powering up.
Archer went out with style, but when they are defeated. What happens with the heroes? Do they return to where they came from or do they die or...? Maybe it doesn´t matter that much but I´m curious. Archer was my favourite in Fate/Stay Night aswell. Maybe I´ll just start hoping for him to return in one way or another. I don´t know the possibilites of that though. |

This was a magnificent episode 10/10. Poor Tohsaka... This was truly devastating. I really liked Archer too. But did he end everything with a bang! The fighting lasted quite a bit, but nonetheless, very well presented.

As for the first part, I wonder that too since now that we know who he is, why didn't he just blast Berserker with Spoiler:

It wasn't that Archer couldn't. He just expended all of his mana since he was acting on his own without support and didn't realize about Berserker's noble phantasm until it was too late. Oh well. Was the best damn fight I've had the pleasure of witnessing. The UBW music in the background just sealed it for me.

No, Archer and Rin knew from start that to fight Berserker is an insane option. He did throw everything he has on Berserker but he is just too strong for Archer. Do remember that Berserker is a demi-god Hercules and Archer is juat
Spoiler:
Nevertheless, AFAIK in the gamestory Archer defeated Berserker 6 times, a notable achievement by itself considering that he is not a famous legend. He did not lose on purpose, he is fighting trying to win a miracle against impossible odds.

After watching this episode, I think Archer is too cool for this series, I think Archer should have his own show. Berserker is broken. I dont understand why Berserker is still alive either. For some reason I think Archer could of killed Beserker or escaped numerous times, but instead he kept doing all of these special attacks and going all out. Was Archer planning to die.
Oh, doesnt Archer resemble Shoriou. they look like they can be related. Last edited by MarcusG; 2006-04-08 at 16:39. |

No, Archer did not plan to be defeated, He is using all his skills to the limit but Hercules Noble Phantasm is a body that can withstand A++ attack levels 12 times.
In short, he lost because he has no more ammunition left in the end. Unlimited Blade Works is his last resort weapon.
