Hana Iro fanservice to me was pretty much the opposite of sexy. The only chance they had was with Yuina and sometimes Nako, and it's not like Minko has anything that isn't a washboard. Plus it had other opposition like Guilty Crown (almost...) and Ben-to so it wasn't easy for 2011.

Now True Tears-- Hiromi has an awesome figure and can still play sports. And has the best looking ass PA has drawn to date. That is much sexier. The fanservice was more subdued save for random Noe panty shots, but it was still there. Now I'll stop before I get stabbed by the other fans.

P.A.'s newest work will be announced at 13:00 on October 20. They will be announcing it at the Dengeki Festival, so it appears likely to be an adaptation from Ascii Media Works, but nothing has been confirmed thus far.

While there's a few adaptations i'd love or dream of even if I know it'll never happen (gunslinger girl 2 cour reboot or Yotsuba&) but Media works also sometimes publishes manga versions of anime originals (Ano natsu , sora no woto etc) so I wouldn't rule out an anime original with a manga version running in Dengeki Daioh.

That is true as well, but P.A.'s latest original works have gone to Square Enix to be published in manga form. CANNAN went to the Kadokawa Ace format too. That's why I feel it's more likely to be another adaptation since the only work they've done with Dengeki was Angel Beats.

So what are the most significant titles Dengeki has that haven't been animated already?

Judging by the 1st episode of Tari Tari, they really love their True Tears. It's like they try to sneak it in and then get yelled at.

Then again loving your own works is needed to make more good ones.

Not in any way saying it's gonna be this but Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou is a massive seller (vol1 has sold over 800 000 copies) and it's listed as a seinen with mystery drama and romance, sounds right up PA works' alley.

But really the fact they're gonna announce something in october surprises me,they already have the Hanasaku Iroha movie and Red Data Girl in the pipeline.
And with Tari Tari's animation sometimes reaching some really "quality" proportions I hope they're not overworking themselves.

So unfortunate that Tari Tari got the short end of the stick, since I already find it better than all of their previous work. It's like they set out to prove me wrong when I said they couldn't do shit w/o Okada.

Oh well, I guess not having a mad writer that wrecks every male character she comes across can help matters, as well as not having hamfisted melodrama. Still, the ending parts are what worry me the most-- "Unclutch Works" is my nickname for them.

True Tears still looks the best though.

Some people were bashing Okada in the beginning of the thread while praising anohana. Okada wrote (most of) the script for Hanasaku Iroha and basically the whole script for anohana.

Also, <3 PA.

Naw, I know, not intending to start anything again, just thought I'd point out the contradictions. I realize that the situations are different though. As people already said, she didn't work alone on HSI. Probably didn't on anohana either but a one-cour is easier to handle because there's only so much you can do to influence the series if you're only doing an episode or two.

I don't see how praising AnoHana and bashing Okada for her other work is mutually exclusive, though. Not much of a contradiction.

Okay I know this is old but no Brains Base? I think I might have lost a little faith in humanity.

The fact that Studio Deen is ranked above Ufotable is self evident that list wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

Though what's worse is the works they decided to list as notable ones for some studios. Right, because clearly No.6 is one of Bones' masterworks and not something like Eureka Seven or Rahxephon. And Blood for IG, yea... sure.

A big thanks to ultimatemegax who translated the HSI BD notebooks that's full of staff interviews and a whole a lot of it has to do with HSI but there's one interesting info at the last interview where the president from PA Works says he'd like to explore all kinds of different genres and in particular mecha or fantasy.

So we could end up with a mecha P.A works show at some point!

This is the shadow protagonist in Hanasaku Iroha, Aosagi-kun! He truly lives up to his namesake, a grey heron, doesn’t he? Males and females differ slightly in their colors in a certain area, so it’ll be interesting to discover what gender this bird is.
Heron was the 2nd best character. True Story.

Thus it is female.

Quote:
-Have you worn one of the uniforms before?
One of the gorgeous shy workers at P.A. Works wore a dark blue uniform. He also wore the tortoise shell bondage too! (laughs) But as for both, we didn’t draw him wearing either the uniform or the bondage. Those pictures were only used for reference while we drew. -You really bound him? Yes. It was how the young male workers at P.A. Works examined the ins and outs of tortoise shell bondage. It was like they were just playing around. The women got excited as they watched the guys. I was working on something else at the time, so I didn’t get a chance to see them. “What?! You were doing something that fun and you didn’t even try to tell me about it?!” (laughs) But wearing the two-piece uniform is a relatively simple thing to understand.
LOL our theories are coming true. And Mari Okada wasn't even responsible. /shock

I gotta say, though, they seem to really love their work.

Quote:
Horikawa: The conversation between Ohana and Sui in the graveyard in episode 24 got me thinking
about how I would close the studio from a presidential standpoint. It felt like Okada-san had me giving up. Then then I think she retaliated with the scene in episode 25 where Nako speaks to Ohana. There are people who retreat to their goal like Sui and there’s people who accompany them. That doesn’t mean they don’t have a dream while working. But Ohana is one of those people who carries enough energy to motivate others by herself. She can get people around her wrapped up thinking “Maybe we should change the status quo.” That doesn’t mean the current way of doing things is wrong, but after she came to Kissuisou, the atmosphere gradually changed. I wanted to convey to the people watching Hanasaku Iroha the energy that the characters had and make them think “I’m also going to do my best tomorrow.” Actually, when I saw tweets from people who had finished watching the show, I saw them write “I’ll also do better,” so that emotion was conveyed.
So I guess there was some real life allegory that I was feeling from it that might have been there then.

Forget Okada,Yuriko Ishii sounds like a full blown Yandere !Must be tough being a guy at PA works!

Makes me laugh how Ishii didn't seem that thrilled to be working on Another as chief animation director and how she seems to have a leg/thigh fetish.

Also ended up looking up a picture of Mel Kishida because all the woman at PA works seemed to have a crush on him

Definitely a lot of that in Hanairo, for better or for worse.

Bumping this thread because I found something:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com.au/n...-28-february-3

So PA releases a second bluray boxset of True Tears (lolwut) and it sells even better than the first one and significantly better than the initial release when it aired. If I'm not mistaken this means it now surpasses Hanasaku Iroha and Tari Tari at about 9k-10k if we add up all the releases. F yea!
