I'll personally never recognize it as anime. Doesn't mean anime fans can't talk about it though. I love it. I wish there were more western animations like this one.

Does Anime have to be strictly Japanese-produced? What do you define as an Anime?

Well really the word isn't very meaningful to begin with so I just use it to define "animation from Japan". Since it's impossible to define an anime "style". You can only tell whether or not someone has this style, you can't clearly define it.

This also means that I don't qualify it either. I do not exclusively think anime is better than any other type of animation. Although a lot of animation I like happens to be anime.

Simple solution: It's Blank-anime.

Example: RWBY is an American-Anime.

The problem is, we already have a perfectly good non-borrowed-from-a-foreign language word for RWBY, which is animation, or web animation, if you will. So I simply call it what it is.

Doesn't change the fact that it was inspired from Anime and such, so people can deem it as a pseudo-Anime all they want

I did say "to each their own" on the previous page though. If you can't accept that a western show is good without calling it anime, that's entirely your prerogative.

It's western anime. There's chinese anime, there's korean anime, so I don't see where's the problem. Of course, you can call it an animated series, a cartoon, or anything else that fits the bill - it's all of those things.

I don't consider it anime if it's chinese either... The original Japanese word means "animation", which means it's a good word for an English speaker to use to refer to Japanese animation.

That being said, I must reiterate that it was just a little thingy I wanted to say. I have no intention to tell anyone to use the lingo the same way I do because no one exists who has enough authority to properly define what the word actually means.

True Story. Each person is entitled to what he/she may want to deem as Anime, whether it's produced in Japan or another country.

I'll be getting the RWBY beach light novel, but won't be able to post pics of it, until mid-August (at best), due to it coming with my 'Your Name' japanese release. I'll try to post pic images, of whatever RWBY character(s) that are featured in the light novel in thier swinsuit(s). Because that's selling ponit of is RWBY light novel.
