Is there a chance that anyone here may know a link to the extended news media version of the demo?

For those looking for the Alien Base assault, it got taken down since apparently the Press Release version of the game was supposed to end once an Alien Base was discovered. OXM hacked their copy to be able to actually do the assault.

Try to bait a group of Mutons into going into your overwatch killzone? Get Chryssalids instead. Kill the Chryssalids? Well unfortunately those Mutons have now moved up for a grenade throw. Seriously, the AI on Classic looks to be scary in this game. Not to mention that that mission had 17 aliens seen, and he hadn't seen all of the map yet (he got killed with 7 encountered aliens still alive). Speaking of Chryssalids:

LoweGear: It's kind of crazy how this game assumes that you can assault an alien base with just six people, when that was only possible during late-game, and only then it was likely because you had Psi-Amps up the wazoo.
The video was a MID-GAME assault, which in the old UFO Defense usually entailed throwing a complement of maybe 8-14 soldiers (nearly a full Skyranger) at a base and hope it sticks.

Well, it's not like you need to go to the base right away. IIRC when he launched the mission, there were also abductions in progress that he hadn't gotten to yet. So you can postpone the base assault and just improve your research till you're confident you can take down 6 Mutons in a room all at once.
Edit: Gameplay video featuring a landed (not crashed) UFO. The dev commentary is quite hilarious at times

I can't wait to be able to get a Psi Soldier. In the original game Psi was plain and overpowering. The new and varied Psi powers a leveled up Psi soldier has at it's disposal looks really interesting.

I never really felt too attached to my soldiers in the original game. Yeah it suck to have a high ranked soldier die, but because you could use so many soldiers in the game I had plenty of high rank soldiers. They die and I sigh. I never named any of my soldiers.
This could all change for me now since we only get 6 soldiers in a squad plus each individual soldier has greater influence on the battlefield especially the high ranked ones. Ugh, the closer the release dates comes the more impatient I get. *groan*

You could use rookies to scout targets for him, and have him mind control them. All while he stayed safely in the Skyranger.
