So DEEN is setting itself a record so far on consecutive seasons without anything of theirs worth giving a damn about for me. Their seitokai series this season is so goddamn bad.

BL + Chikai Kon (Umineko director!) + Deen Budget = x

X= where x is a negative number

I am wrong that BL anime frequently is bad, it's just that Deen does too many of them.

Well DEEN ruins almost anything they touch but hey at least they touched it. I'm pretty sure Higurashi and Fate Stay Night wouldn't be as big as they are if DEEN didn't take the initiative to adapt it. I mean VN's are very hard to adapt considering it's length.

In my personal opinion though, they have done a lot of shit (Vampire Knight, Dragon Crisis, 07 Ghost) but I love the entirety of Higurashi and I liked Kore wa Zombie desu ka so I guess that makes up for it.

But DEEN is still kind of a joke. I'd be scared if they adapt anything that I like (So far not a lot) and they are far from my favorite studio but they adapted Higurashi so I don't hate them

I'm not sure if any form of touching is a good thing though. (Umineko was molested, for example, and fans will never get over it). And if they didn't touch it, there's a chance someone competent may pick it up

One example lately would be fate/zero and Ufotable. I wonder why Deen wasn't suggested to do that even though they've handled all of F/SN in anime.

There are different partnerships between various companies. Had Geneon or Frontier Works licensed Fate/Zero (as opposed to Aniplex), the project could possibly have gone to Deen.

I'm going to lol so hard at how badly ufotable outclasses DEEN on the fate/stay night franchise with Fate/Zero.

Then probably precede to despair because DEEN profited off their low grade work.

Eh, outclassing Deen would be like saying you beat someone in a race, when they're in a wheelchair... with one wheel.

How bout that new Higurashi OVA? DEEN, we wreck franchises that were already decently successful.

Well, they are a fair basketcase.

But the weird fact is...Deen have actually had enough success to stay afloat.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19...er10kpart2.jpg

So Deen have had 6 titles sell above 10k average per volume in the 2000-today timepoint. That may not sound like a lot but that's actually the equal 4th highest of anime studios doing TV series in that timeframe. Only Sunrise, KyoAni and J.C. Staff have had more, while A-1 ties Deen for 4th. As dodgyas their quality can be sometimes, Deen still exist becase they have some form of consistency.

Interesting to note Higurashi was not one of those titles. Fate/Stay Night, Hetalia Axis Powers, Hakuouki, Hakuouki Hekketsuroku, Hetalia World Series and Fruits Basket are their better efforts in terms of financial success.

The only anime that saves Deen from an absolute negative judgement from my part is Jigoku Shoujo. I really can't find anything big to complain about its execution, I wonder why they couldn't keep the standard with every other stuff they made.

It's Deen, and their result assault on common decency and reasonable budgets (That Higurashi OVA) was too heavy. Thus nothing should be spared against them.
