I, for one, hope they do as good a job as they did on the original. Clearly, being faithful to the manga this time won't hurt any, but... here's hoping the animation, voice work and music is on par with what we got the first time out.

To be honest, I was trying to think of what to expect, because my thought is that they're going to do something completely different from the original series and manga (since I'd imagine they wouldn't want to be repetetive for people who know what happened in the manga). With that said, I was thinking what it would be like...... I mean, the Homunculi are all dead, so they can't be the bad guys... maybe they could introduce Father, but in a different way. I don't know. I have no idea what to expect.... I just think it'll be frikkin sweet!!
Oh, and Ed and Al will somehow get back to Amestris.

Expanding on that last point, I actually figured what happened was that since at the end of Conqueror of Shamballa, it wasn't confirmed that the gate was closed on either side, what might happen is that Ed and Al never figured out how to and Mustang was unable to destroy it, so they'll be able to go back, somehow. I don't know?

But you know it's been stated that it will be a "retelling" more faithful to the manga, right?

Ah finally FMA 2 ^_^
'Bratja' was so beautiful, I hope they use it again! And who knows, maybe Ling and Mei chan will actually exist.
The best would be for them to start all over again. Although, as long as it's convincing and not overly...cheesy or whatever, I'm happy

And let's not forget wrench wielding Winry

Yeah, I know that, but my guess is it's not going to be an exact copy of the manga, otherwise half the fans would know what is going to happen... I could be wrong...

Considering that most animes are (more or less faithful) adaptations of existing mangas, I don't really see anything bad about this, myself...

Nono, not bad at all
At least they couldn't ruin much if they did.

Is the 2nd series going to follow the manga up until a point and digress, yet again?

Not according to what we've heard. The idea is a full adaptation of the manga without any real changes.

Not to mention that the manga is close to the final arc, so by the point they catch up to where the manga is now, the manga will probably have already finished.

I'm rather interested in who the manga-only characters are going to be voiced by. Also, Ueda Yuji again as the Crimson Alchemist.

Let's blow things up.

i wonder from where will they start the anime? will they start the anime right after where the movie ends? or will they retell the story from the very beginning or from to the point where the anime story diverges from that of manga? but who cares!!i have been waiting so long for this^_^,could not wait to see ed and roy facing off each other again.

I don't really mind the story going different more as long as its good. I just started the manga where the anime left off (like 10000 years ago).

it will retell the ENTIRE thing, but it will be much closer to the manga.
