DVD Episode 7 - NEW SCENES

Quoted off "http://natsumemaya.terminus.net.au/news.htm"

Quote:
The official Kimi ga Nozomu Eien anime website has updated with news that volume 7 (to be released 25 August 2004) will contain a new "DVD version" epilogue to episode 14, new scenes and long version ED. For release details, see my 22 October 2003 entry
Some of you guessed correct about the long version ending.. This can be quite, quite good.

Our prayers have been answered ^_^

Seriously, this may put the icing on the KimiNozo cake. If they manage to wrap the series up in the way it's supposed to be, with the full epilogue, I'm gonna celebrate for quite a while!

Good

Between the fan disc and this, Kiminozo has been milked for all its worth

It's time to close the book and finally move on to other things

I would find it overly funny if they were reffering to the full ending song, heh.

No, I would not.

Read clearly : "will contain a new "DVD version" epilogue to episode 14"

Anyways, Kimi is being milked, but it isn't being overly milked yet. Think Evangelion. Now THAT is milking. Kimi's just starting to be exploited, but then again it probably doesn't have as much potential as Eva to be repeatedly milked. I can see people moving on from this..

But anyways, *HINT HINT HINT* WE REALLY NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS IN THE FANDISC *HINT HINT HINT*

Do a search function, and you'll easily find out what the fan disc is

Kiminozo has been milked to Hades. Let's see what it has spawned:

-original PC version
-Dreamcast version
-PS2 version
-enhanced DVD version
-way too many trading cards
-figures
-pencil boards
-wall scrolls
-an anime Tv series
-an ongoing radio series ( where Ayu reigns supreme )
-special edition anime DVDs
-Kiminozo If Fan Disc
-Several OSTs for the game
-Several OSTs for the anime ( even TAKAYUKI is getting his own image song / OST, for the love of God! )
-a novel adaptation for the game
-another friggin' novel adaptation for the anime

Enough is enough. Unlike Takayuki, I refused to be trapped in the past any further.

Any successful ero game that doesn't rely on ero usually goes this route, with maybe the exception of the last one. I find DVD versions to be actually quite nice, since it means less discs to carry around. It's not for milking purposes, but more likely so people can play it on console.

This is pretty common for most anime.

An anime would be okay, but adding a radio series may be overkill.

Quote:
-special edition anime DVDs
If this is the only version of the DVDs, then fans would actually appreciate it because they'd get something extra with their DVDs.

-Kiminozo If Fan Disc
I think people would actually like something like this, especially if the original game made something mandatory.

Many people like listening to these. And this is pretty much the standard for any anime.

Novel adaptations are nice as long they keep true to the story, but yeah, another novel adaptation is probably overkill.

While some of the spinoffs may be overkill, most of them are done because of demand by the fans.

Perhaps it'll include the complete version of Haruka's book-- That's the only real thing I imagine is needed to clear up the ending. At least that was my only gripe about the ending.

Don't forget all the drama CDs.

I don't think Kiminozo is up there in terms of exploitation, but there are more heavily exploited games out there. I figure Age will follow the pattern of milking a popular game until people are no longer willing to spend money on it.

I've played the Fan Disc, and yeah, it is pure cash-grab. There are some cool things in there, though...like the Extra Episode Collection, which are bits of backstory from the perspective of other characters. My favourite is definately the last one, "True Lies" -- definately a treat for fans who've played more than just one of Age's games

But, be at ease! Age has begun exploiting MuvLuv with the release of the DVD version. I guess depending on how popular or how much pull Age has, will get animated. Although I wonder how they will deal with the different timelines/universes. Lol. I'm probably not the only one who responded to the news of the Fan Disk with: "Great...but how about releasing Alternative already?!"

They're running a Muv Luv Unlimited manga on Dengeki Daioh starting next month.

Unlike the Muv Luv Extra manga, the art will not be so overly cutesy.

The merchandising has begun. (or rather, is beginning again)

So where/what site have you seen these at? Being the crazy collector I am, I have not seen any KGNE trading cards at all, or figures for that matter.

I think the only thing they don't have besides an OST for every non-essential character (they'll get there eventually I'm sure) is an artbook

KGNE actually has an artbook, a Memorial one at that

I own a nice copy of it...only cost me 5500 yen for it, of course shipping was a hassle because I wanted it safe
