Megaroad-01 dissapeared in 2014 though, right? So they could hold off on that story until then.

Launched in September 2012 and they "lost contact" sometime during 2016. Megaroad-02 and 03 were launched in 2014. So yeah, they have a couple of upcoming dates if they want to launch a new project at a spesific time.

Not "celebrate" but more tell the story of what happened that year to that ship...and perhaps the followup to the rest of the Colonies and Earth finding out what happened to that ship and crew (as it comes up in Macross stories from time to time).

Guys, calm down. No need to get your undies in a twist.

Some facts:

(1) Yot-chan HAS seen that article, in Japanese.

(2) It WASN'T an interview (as I noted when I translated it), more like a collection of comments in response to some common reactions when the film first came out.

Personally, I took it as a hint, a strong hint, but a hint nonetheless. Whatever the case, I highly doubt they're going to make their fates any clearer...

The point, in the end, is: rather than wishing for something more about old fan favourites, which we're not going to get, there are other Macross projects that deserve our attention.

i.e. the projects that are part of the 30th Anniversary celebration.

Doesn't mean that I am not looking forward to other, new stuff.
