That was pretty bizarre. Some kind of cross between Vegas, San Francisco and Hong Kong for starters. It felt like it was trying to have a sort of Baccano! sense of style to it - but that similarity doesn't carry too far. Service, service and more service - it delivers what it promises, I'll give it that...

Indeed; some people in here claim the fanservice was somehow enough to keep watching, but even that was disappointing (for instance, the horrible walking animation from behind. No, that's not what a sexy ass looks like!). I guess it's to blame at least in part on the relatively few number of frames used to animate such motion (also apparent in the tram animations). And those eyes! I'm afraid they'll haunt me in my dreams tonight... . |

After being quite surprised with MM!, I'm kind of hoping for something similar from XEBEC this time, but was left rather disappointed. The first half was fine, although a bit boring. The second half is better, but I don't think they played it up for comedy enough. I mean, here we have the world's worst dealer (which will drive most casinos bankrupt) playing poker in a wedding dress, facing against a guy who got dumped in the altar and collects/steals teddy bears for therapy. They then enter another dimension of cards, which Rio ends up with a pair of 2s. Later, they discover that the Teddy Bear wasn't even from Belgium, just a knockoff from China....really, their facefaults there wasn't enough.
I know it's just the first episode, and maybe things can improve later on, but personally the pilot episode doesn't leave a good impression for me.

I do agree sadly.. Even though I din't have high expectations for this anime, it really is hard to continue watching it at this pace. Unless something happens between the 4-5 episodes you said, sorta like Yakumo. Maybe I'm just being a little too front about it since its the very first episode.

This show is horribly written.
But it's horribly written all around (I challenge you to find any part of this plot that is explained properly or actually makes sense), and somehow that makes it strangely enjoyable. When I see a show that's mostly decent with some bad parts, I think, "well those parts were unfortunate, it could've been an ok show otherwise." But when I was watching this my reaction was, "the entire staff of this show was on crack the entire time, and it's hilarious." Even the fanservice was a letdown. (TGEN mentioned above how weird the walking animation was.) But somehow, that only adds to the humor. So if this keeps up, I'll be watching this show. And laughing at it all the way through.

What are your expectation for this show? 3 min into the show you know it is mindless fanservice fun. I find it more entertaining than shows pretending to be deep but actually not.
For those who claim it doesn't make sense as the casino would go bankrupt, you obviously are not a gambler (which is good). The whole Goddess of Victory thing is likely gimmick from the casino. (The owner make video of her) The whole reason is because of the gambler mindset. The gambler may win a hand or two with her "super natural power". But they are not going to leave when she is not around anymore - end up losing more to the casino.
