Aside from the OP, the anime is pretty cool. Shuuhei Kita still can't sing worth a damn. How did that guy win a singing contest?!

wow...as much as Mokke was good, I couldn't get into it. In comparison, I really enjoyed ep1 of this series. The ending of the main plot of this particular episode was pretty touching...a little short and shallow, but nice, nonetheless.

That was a good episode.
I became sentimental feelings by the last scene.

First thing i have to say about this anime is...WOW

I was a little worried about the nyanko (errr..) but it seem like it'll be a good char after all.
Spoiler for nyanko:

and what had me REALLY worried is the main char,i was expecting your average good-hearted-weakling-idiots but this one seems to prove me wrong.

And yes,the end was unexpectedly sentimental.
(and for once,it wasn't a pain to watch..)

I finally watched a commerical-less RAW on Veoh and...I think I might actually like this. The guy's kinda cute. Nyanko is cute and funny! And when he's really big he's all ferocious and stuff. He even pinned Takashi to the ground once! Still, I thought the scene where Takashi hugged(?) the giant Nyanko's head was cute. I wonder when a sub will come out?

This is surprisingly good. Quite low-key with really good use of music. I thought the drama (involving Reiko and the youkai) was handled pretty well.

I liked the first episode, Nyanko-sensei in particular; but from the preview it seems they will be stand-alone episodes, I just hope some kind of more elaborate plot will begin.

I really enjoyed the first episode, it seems like a more mature version of Mokke so far, but I hope there's going to be some recurring theme instead of being episodic like Mokke.

The manga was a nice read, but the anime was a fun watch. MAN, I'm sooooo HOOKED to this xD

The spoiler screenshots (before the sub was released) had bored me at first ^^; I am so happy that the anime adaptation's better and more entertaining than I've exected

The music bored me though x_x but animation is just so terrific *_* As expected from the studio that did Baccano! Wahoo!

Geta alerted me to this series and besides me being a fan of supernatural genre the seiyuu cast looks promising, Ishida Akira, Inoue Kazuhiko, Kobayashi Sanae to name a few. Gonna chk out epi 1 now.

This picture http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...jinchou_pr.jpg . The art in a weird twisted way reminded of Mushihi especially the backgrounds

Very strong very enjoyable first episode with some good likeable characters. I especially liked the part where they showed reiko...Hopefully we get to learn more about her in the future.

Overall just a really nice episode in general no complaints.

WOW indeed. I think I've just found my first summer anime worth following closely.

Interesting first episode that reminds me of a common Japanese theme that I had wanted to discuss earlier in the General Chat/Japanese Culture section, about ties that bind. I'm short of time at the moment, so I'd probably return later with more comments.

Ep 1

I think the Mokke comparison is more apt than the Mushishi one (haven't read Tactics).

First ep didn't really grab me all that much, but I can easily enough believe this could get more interesting later on. Brains Base was the obvious draw for me to this series, they're last two series were outstanding. I'll keep this series at arm's length for now.

I personally think it has quite a bit of the Kure-nai and Hachimitsu to Clover feel to it, for some reason. Genres and characters (well, most of them anyway) are totally different, I know, but the execution and the style of storytelling resemble. To me, that is. And Takashi also sorta reminds me of Shinkurou, ahaha...

Overall its a good show . Yokai are central in the story but not the central theme . The central theme is about lonliness self discovery and growth . Through Yokais the protagonist discovers the persona that wasnt his grandmother who isnt much diffrent from him. And suffers the same fate as him bieng an outcast due to the ability to see yokai . The best part is, this series dwells on the years when his grandmother was a school girl . Reikois really funny and kickass .
