Why would the barrier hold dragon slayer magic? It's unlikely to be the only magic that's over 80, so I doubt something like that would count.

Maybe the dragons hid themselves in their slayers?

form the pervious chpt i don't think so.

The thing is we never learn how long they stay with thier dragons learning magic. We just see them young looking but we have no idea how old they really are.

I'm guessing that a little bit later, Gerard is actually going to be central to the overall plotline. Since it seems that there's more or less more than one of him (going by the fact that we have the one Erza knew, as well as Mistgun)... well, I suspect he's going to be a very important character (especially since he keeps getting brought back). But in what way, I can't begin to say

First one possible cool character HAD to look like Gerad for some reason, and now they bringing him back, and giving him some story with Wendy :O Oo

Weeeell, Gerard does know Urtear, maybe he'll fight her off, should they meet again, and he could be the one to inform the guild of Zeref and his plans once he beats it out of Urtear.
About DS users and their magic: I think that, for as long as they stayed under the dragon's wing, they drank dragon blood, negating the aging effect of their bodies until they parted ways. Just my crack theory but sometimes even those can br right on spot^^

I took the speculation of negating the aging effect to consideration.
Just look at where Natsu lived, it's not surprising for me if he didn't know the flow of time while he spent his time with Igneel ^^;

err, so...the newest chapter showed Gerard ?

its not specifically said that Natsu is over 80, its just implied. can't mind what chapters it was again but its when the barrier was put around FT Guild hall to stop the old geezer from getting out, surprisingly it also stops Natsu and Gazelle too.

we all had big talk about it before, lots of ideas being thrown around back then.

I got my English Fairy Tail Vomue 6 today. Gazille's romanized named is actually Gajeel.

... for Natsu's age, back when they showed his character card/info, his age was either left blank or said unknown (I'm not sure). Add that to the spell which said those over 80 (and statues) can't pass beyond the barrier, and Natsu hit the invisible wall... well, you can see why we wonder about his age (heck, Dragonslayers in general, since Gazille couldn't pass beyond the barrier either)

That is my expectation as well. One of them is probably a clone of another, or maybe there are more than 2 of them :shiver:.

In any case besides having the same face, Mist Gun has a totally different personality and different magic than his, so he is still cool in my book.

When I said Natsu was over 80 I did not mean to be taken literally (although this could turn out to be exactly the case). I meant that there is something that makes Dragonslayers look younger than they are. Besides, we know almost nothing about Natsu's past apart from being raised by a dragon, who disappeared at some point.

You're not the only one...

He seemed like an interesting villain in the first part of the story when he was Sieglein, but it has gone downhill since Gerard was introduced.
