ok, DLed this ep and it was laggy so I changed the FourCC from xvid to divx. now instead of it being laggy Divx Crashes upon the start of the episode.

ne 1 know how to fix this?

Use ffdshow to play the xvid file.

its a decoder/filter optimized more for speed, see the Media Configuration Guide.

in my experience, ffdshow with max postprocessing uses less cpu than xvid alone.
