What what what? Wagahai and Dreamer Boy? Looks like I really need to catch up on the manga: the reason I liked in the first place is all because of the Cool Cats!
Not that I usually peruse such stuff [obligatory disclaimer], but I bet Rule 34 totally applies regarding Yumeji x Chaser. Err, Chaser x Yumeji. Whatever. Is wondering if anyone else gets the cat & wagahai pronoun reference. |

Finished catching up! Holy shit it got epic.
Random impressions: - For some reason I really like Ken-chan. Making a carefree but nice guy the primary victim of this arc is an excellent move by the author. It kept me wishing that he'll be saved in the end and everything will turn out alright. - The last few chapters saw Yumeji leveled up repeatedly. Fortunately he's always had the personality so it doesn't feel like an arbitrary boost at all. Combined that with the cats' glorious entrance (you can't do better than that!) and you've got yourself something good. - Less Isana is not good though. It's something of a lost bet because Merry is the eponymous heroine, but I'd much prefer Yumeji x Isana. Appreciate her better dangit, lover boy. =_= - The anime actually adapted the first chapters better than the manga itself handles them in many parts. This is a pleasant surprise. Quote:

I didn't know Chaser John Doe used this term [and thereby referencing Japan's most famous cat] until I saw the anime. I totally did a double take when I heard it the first time. Just goes to show you really can't capture everything in translation (there's no way the manga's translators could possibly work that in -- even professional translators who worked on the classic novel couldn't carry through the nuance). |

Yeah, the anime has more Isana, though I personally don't care for the extra filler Nightmares. More Isana works out well, since apparently she learns the truth about dreams later.
What volume does Pharos Elcres get defeated in the novels? I wonder whether the anime will get to that point or just go for a filler ending. |
