Nyarko 04 - "No" is Not An Option
And so, the show reaches its first Riderless week. It still had a whole lot of other references, because that's the nature of the show, and was overall, pretty entertaining. The tone also seemed slightly less manic than the weeks before. The stabilizing presence of Mahiro's mom and the relatively stable Hastur (from his first appearance, I have no idea about future material) made the episode not completely filled with Nyarko and Cuko's danse amore. But when they did, they delivered. The chain reaction pillow smacking was nicely timed, as was the "lovey dovey" thing at the table. Cuko snuggling up to Nyarko's ass was kind of hot (what does she plan to do with her ass? I kinda want to find out). I enjoyed the food puns, too. Wordplay is something this series excels at. Mahiro's mom is pretty fun; completely unfazed by the girls, and a bit of a gamer geek to boot. The best gag of the episode was the pillow. Not so much Yes/No as Tsun/Dere. Keep delivering, Nyarko. Judging by the preview, this week of largely setup will give way to a week of largely action. Bring it! |
