And Colombia seals it in stoppage time.
3-0, Colombia (90'+3). What was the Greek Defense doing for the whole game? Unless if someone here who was watching the game was seeing something I'm not. (Seriously, I do know some things about the sport but not all). Update: And that's the Final score for Colombia and Greece in Group C. Next game for the day: Uruguay and Costa Rica in Group D. |

Uruguay leads 1-0 after the first half, Cavani scored a penalty after 24 minutes (the penalty was clear and correctly assigned).
Costarica isn't playing bad while Uruguay isn't impressive, I was tempted to say that a draw would have been the fairest result, but a wonderful save by Costarica's goalkeeper Navas at the end of the first half kinda legitimated the uruguayan lead. Update: 54' goal Costarica, Campbell after a nice action. 57' goal Costarica: Free kick, cross and perfect head shot by Duarte. Uruguay 1:2 Costarica 24' Cavani pen. (U), 54' Campbell (C), 57' Duarte (C)

Costa Rica 3 - 1 Uruguay...
Joel Campbell is one hell of a player, he scored the first goal, was fouled to produce the free kick wich resulted in the 2nd, and assisted for the third, I wouldn't be surprised if his agent it's already getting calls from important clubs... Historical result for Costa Rica, and the second real surprise of the WC. Update: Maxi Pereira was expelled from the game at 93', the guy got frustrated with Joel Campbell mocking the Uruguay defense and kicked him without the ball. |

Same scenario to Uruguay as with Spain yesterday. Early penalty. Costly missed chance to extend the score. And then got hit back with set piece and pace. Felt like it was from the same screenplay
Only difference is they got a red card as well. My prediction , Spain versus Uruguay for final. Directed by FIFA

Campbell...first Manchester United, then Uruguay...
So is Arsenal's striker problem solved? Looking forward to Mario thrashing England (cue 3-1 England-Italy, because we don't have enough shocks yet this world cup). |
