I wouldn't really say Kido is gutless. He was instead naive when it came to relationships and dealing with girls especially Emiru. But after the incident with his first girlfriend he began to change.

Indeed it was. In Kido's case it was that traumatic and heartbreaking experience which lead him to change to a better person. He's still far from being the ideal male character but at least he learned from his mistakes and experiences.

Plus there definitely more stuff he still needs to overcome and with his relationship with Emiru getting becoming more complicated, he's still in the process of finding himself and where his feeling regarding his girlfriend, the "peep" life, and other things in general.

I don't think he'll ever be the "ideal" male because of how unorthodox his relationship with Emiru is. Unless Kido cuts ties with her (and he probably won't at this point), he will be seen as cheating if he's in a relationship with any other girl. He felt guilty about when he was with Yuri, and he still feels guilty about hiding it now.

I don't think Kido and Emiru's relationship will be affected too much. As for Kido and Madoka's relationship and Madoka and Emiru's relationship are entirely different matter. Kido might slow drift away from Madoka after Emiru's sacrifice. And Madoka won't trust Emiru and treat her as friend anymore.

Same here. Shows how much she really cares for Kido and was willing to take the fall for him even if it means antagonizing herself. I feel sorry for Madoka as well since she was completely ignorant and was merely caught up in this whole mess. I hope her relationship with Kido won't turn for the worse and she and Emiru would make up once she realizes the truth.

Oh, I think it will. With how things are set up, Madoka and Emiru can no longer be friends, so Kido can't be friends with both of them anymore. He's quickly approaching a situation where he has to choose between one of them.

That's why the harem end is always the answer.

It looks like it comes down to having a normal loving relationship with Madoka or a physical mutual one with Emiru. This is pretty grand scale than when he was with Kotoboki.
