There is an update on the anime website. Once per month the staff will release something, though it's unclear what it will be. It will be for a total of 12 times starting with late October 2019, so since the last release will be in late September 2020, there is a high chance for Season 2 to start in Fall 2020.

The illustrator of the LN accidentally leaked new anime info through a photo of the latest LN cover.
The 2nd season will be split cour, first in October 2020 and 2nd in April 2021. However, a new TenSura anime will air from January 2021 in between the two cours. It will be an anime of the spinoff yonkoma manga Tensura Nikki. |

New Key Visual released, New PV and further Info on November 8th
A New Key Visual has been released:
Furthermore it has been announced on the official Tensura Anime site that there will be a live broadcast event featuring several Voice Actors, where alongside a review of Season 1 of Tensura, a new Season 2 PV, as well as additional Season 2 info will be released. Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken Season 2 is scheduled to start airing in the Winter Season 2021 on January 12th, with the second half of Season 2 being broadcasted in Summer 2021, while in-between in Spring 2021 the anime adaptation of the spin-off manga "Slime Diaries" will air. All 9 months of Slime will be simulcasted by Crunchyroll. BTW, I find it outright embarrassing that I managed to publish this "news" before either MAL or ANN did. So much for "anime journalism", but who am I to expect anything out of that bunch anyway?

Four New Character Designs Unveiled
The release of the the December Issue 2020 (released on October 26th) of Monthly Shounen Sirius contained four new character designs for Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken 2nd Season.
The new character designs are for the characters (right to left, top to bottom) Hinata Sakaguchi, Shougo Taguchi, Kirara Mizutani and Kyouya Tachibana. Of the four characters, only Hinata Sakaguchi had a cameo appearance in the first season of the series so far, although she has not said anything in the first season of the series and hence her Voice Actress is still unknown. Regarding the VAs, we might get more information on the "Tensura Youtube Livestream Event" on November 8th, which is also said to provide us with a new trailer.

Seems like this is the only released subbed version of the subbed PV2, but hey, it's something (though as someone who read both the manga and LN, it gets the context wrong a little.)

The so called special episode about Hinata was just a recap with about one minute of new content featuring her. The only new thing we learned is that she thinks Rimuru killed Shizu, so if you don't need a recap, you can skip this. It was a badly done recap too, with everything out of order.

It's funny how so many of these types of stories, the "antagonist" does not verify if the "protagonist" actually killed someone close to them before trying to kill the protagonist. Then again, the fact that Hinata was specifically mentioned to have left Shizue makes you wonder if Hinata has a problem in the first place, as in if she has some mental issues. Shizue probably had many students in the past, and they went on to do things on their own, yet Hinata was mentioned to have "left" Shizue.
So maybe Hinata is not truly a "good" person.
