Appropriate ending for the show. Trully awfull and lacking both principles and ideas.

4/10 for both.

How much more suffering can you put Eureka and Renton through, Kyoda?
How much more could you possibly try to undermine the happy end they fought for so much?
The movie, the manga, New Order, AO, admittedly you wanted to make a bad end for them in the original TV series too, but other staffers kept you from it.
And you still had your revenge on the poor kids!
This story completely undermines everything achieved by the ending of the original show.

Ao's own exploits were simply unsatisfactory.

The "Gainax ending" is more about leaving the audience completely confused by excessive symbolism/twists rather than disappointed, so I don't think "Bones ending" can act as a synonym.

Xand was good until the middle of the show.

As for the Ao - yeah, it was ruined alsmost from the very start, but at least they could have used the hiatus to make some sort of good excuse, like Nirvash descends from the sky, Renton comes out of the cockpit, Highway to Hell playing in the backgroud, ANEMONE COMES TOO - totally random, but still better ending.

i dont even think i can even consider this series a true sequel to e7
1. the only characters that showed up from e7 are renton, eureka, and nirvash no holland, no dominique, and certainly no anemone 3 character who were basicly main characters in e7 and for me for this to be a sequel these characters had to have shown up either as small cameos or a part of the story
2. time travel seriously a concept not even touched apon in the origional series and to sci fi for the series in general
3. no antibody coraliens, from the story it looks like the secrets were attacking the scubs for a long time doesn't it seem odd that no antibodies showed up when they were created for protecting the scubs by the scubs themselves
4. the secrets, basicly the weirdest thing in the series, being enemies for the majority of the series then not, in the origional series the main antagonist was the same throughout the entire series and the enemy' were lfo's and antibodies and if the secrets were earth defense mechanism against invader why didn't they show up in the origiional series
5. truth while a so-so antagonist in general his powers are too supernatural for the e7 universe

and with how horrible this series turned out it makes you wonder if bones purposely made it horrible so people would stop asking for a sequel and they could end the story permenatly

It might be iffy on some details because of stream quality but this is what I got out of it.

Spoiler for Ep23:

- Truth is attacking Fleur and Ao
- Naru comes by, stops Fleur from hitting Truth, takes him away and encases him in a big chunk of Scub, telling him that only she understands him
- Truth is having none of it, preaching to himself about wars in the world and suffering and what's real or not and breaks out, damaging Naru's Nirvash
- After a bunch of flying around, Truth captures Ao in his mech, points the Quartz Gun at himself and shoots
- In a changed timeline, the battle was against "eco terrorists" led by Naru, Naru is now sick again and Mark 1 is significantly different
- Renton arrives through a Scub Burst, Ao sees the arrival in afar and goes to see what it is. They meet up and Renton asks Ao to take him to Eureka (presently a hologram at Triton)

- Quartz is just a thing that happened to be in Scub Corals, it enabled them to escape the Limit of Questions by jumping into other worlds (makes no sense in context of what we know from original but okay)
Backstory
- Scubs encountered Secrets which were created by the Universe itself to cleanse it from alien material, so Scubs use quartz to spread through time
- Eureka's 1st travel to Ao's world (accidental)
- Renton and Eureka are fighting the Secrets while trying to fix the situation as they consider it their responsibility
- Their first child, a girl, died because TRAPAR, turned to stone in fact
- Eureka's second travel to Ao's world (Renton forced her into a scub burst to protect her or something)

Ep
- Renton wants to fix Ao's world up by using the gun, even if it means sacrificing himself, Eureka and their means to return
- They fight with Ao for a while, then the Gun gets dropped and flies on its own
- It is revealed that Truth became the archetype inside the changed Mark 1
- Some of loose ends on Eureka's time travels get tied up by Ao. Eureka and Renton return to their world on V3. Then Ao travels to the first point where Scubs teleported in and blasts them with a fully-charged Quartz gun.
- Two years later, Ao's world is fixed, there's no Scubs or Secrets, Okinawans made their peace and Ao comes down on Renton's board (even though there's no trapar anymore lol) into Ao's world (in which nobody knows him lol)
- Mark 1 soon vanishes because time paradox

It's a goddamn mess.
