Besides Tokiomi, you mean?

I think that's the joke. He can be as memorable as Assassin.

Assassin was at least more memorable than Tokiomi, he had a cool design and did stuff

Tokiomi had a few moments where he mattered as a character though. Assassin was just there so Kirei could spy on stuff and in order to give Rider a cool moment. He was complete fodder. They didn't even mention their wish IIRC.

The coolest thing about Assassin, besides his design, was the fact that he existed in so many separate entities. I thought that was a fun plot twist at least.

"lol, Assassin died first."

"Ah, but we're an Order of Assassins."

... Well played.

The loli Assassin angle probably would have changed things in terms of popularity, but that would have added too much sideplot to Rider and Waver's story.

Probably. But they already had too much going on, or the story would have been overtaken by them completely.

Although I wouldn't have complained.

Had trouble deciding between Gilgamesh and Saber.

I mean... I voted for Saber because she is AMAZING, but Gilgamesh has other fine qualities. ;3

Look at the votes now compared to the ones in the other topic. Interest in this series has dropped drastically since its release. The series rating thread barely even made it to two pages. I'm not sure if it was the mid-season wait or the show's horrible pacing issues that drove people off, but I never expected the turnout to be this low myself.

Not that many people voted this time. It always happens in second season polls.

If anyone even cares those popularity contests of Newtype. Saber landed in second place of best female character of 2012 (October 2011 and July 2012 season). Rider got first place of male ones, Kiritsugu followed in third Place and Gilgamesh in eighth place.

The series rating thread came out a week after the final episode. I don't know about other people, but personally no matter how I feel about a show, I don't give two damns about the rating thread. Anything of note to discuss would've been discussed in the actual episode threads, or in the general anime thread.

As for this thread, it came out a full month after the final episode. Again, why would people stick around to vote/discuss stuff a month later when they'd been doing so the entire time in the previous popularity thread and discussion threads?

Yeah, maybe we did miss all of the post-series buzz. It's just a pity that some of the older forums/series I frequented managed the dwarf the amount of discussion Fate/Zero got within the week and that we're talking about how little attention this series got by the end instead of the actual series.

well I'll briefly include that I'm also surprised by the sudden absence of discussion, though maybe that is a personal quirk given my after impression of animes which can develop over months or even longer. For example the reason I thought so highly of Fate Stay and consequently was so interested in Fate Zero was because of the 'deep structure' that becomes apparent with continuing reflection.
