Vol 8 Editor-in-Chief★Straight Ahead! features three short abstract pieces by Yuki. I shall attempt to interpret what they mean and thus probe into the mind of everyone's favourite moe Living Humanoid. Discussions are most welcome, as not even I completely understand what they mean.

Spoiler for Yuki's short piece part 1 analysis:

I'll continue with Parts 2 and 3 once I have time.

If this is Nagato's idea of a joke, then I'll dare say she's more or less got it right this time round.

Heck, now I want to see THIS scene animated, if only for the sake of hearing Yuki say,

Here's part 2 of Yuki's short piece. C'mon, where's the discussion?

Discussion? Well, I think a lot of people (like me) hold off on reading a chapter until it's finished, so... yeah. Don't worry - when it's done, this thread will explode.

True or not, please be a little more descriptive with your spoiler tags when discussing stuff that hasn't been translated yet (or even released yet lol).

Sounds about right to me. I don't have anything to add, anyway. =/

Three random quotes from Wandering Shadow I found amusing for some reason:
Quote:
I couldn’t say that I completely disagreed with Haruhi. I had seen Shamisen stare at an empty corner of my room for long periods before, as if looking at something I couldn’t see. But apparently cats were different from dogs. Even if they really did see a spirit, they wouldn’t fall ill. As a cat owner, I think I understand this very well.
Quote:
Maybe sometime in the far future, religion will be a thing of the past. That’s too bad, Asahina-san. Maybe I should teach you a thing or two about religion. Well, maybe some time in the future.
Kyon is going to help Asahina "find religion".... if you know what I mean.
Quote:
There was no way I’d let Koizumi taste some free eye candy.
So much better out of context. :3

Translation of Volume 8 - Wandering Shadow is (finally) complete

http://www.baka-tsuki.net/project/in...ndering_Shadow

A very long (thrice as long as the others), very Yuki-istic chapter ;P

Now all that's left is the remaining 15% of Editor in Chief. After that, translation of all 8 Suzumiya Haruhi volumes will have been completed.

It's safe to read Wandering Shadow before Editor in Chief?

Volume 8 only has 2 stories, but they're very long, almost thrice the length of your average chapter. Both of them are unrelated stories, so it's safe to read Shadow while waiting for Editor to be done. Besides, what could you possibly spoil about Editor? ;P

The 8th novel ends nicely IMO, right at the end of the first school year. The next time we translate Volume 9, the story will be set at beginning of the 2nd school year ;P
