I think he's just slow, it has been gradually updated since then.

Thing is, I've read the title, can't believe ancient Japan is actually celebrating Christmas.

According to the japanese wikipedia on クリスマス, they seem to have had a christmas mass as early as 1552. Then to be banished in the Edo period.

Not really creepy that Sagara's harem is increasing, what is creepy is that majority of his harem will kill off the competition to get him. Especially Nobuna, I think everyone agrees with this.

Not really a miscalculation, but more like pride as a father. Nigamasa decided to obey Nobuna and thus he had a father's tantrum "I will not allow it, you will be the leader" or something like that. I say pride has lead to more defeats in history than miscalculation, logistics problems, and etc.
