i guess hard metal punk rock isnt my style...yea i dont like the new OP/ED >.< its too..."in your face" imo...i hope there isnt anyone here who is epileptic

The last few parts of the opening looked like an opening for some kind of horror flick involving demons or zombies.

And I'm starting to like the OP-song now to, not only the ED.
Still don't like the last part though, when the singer goes insane.

I don't think I have ever laughed this hard at an anime op before. My god it's so bad that its awesome. The opening part with light screaming is especially funny.

I think the new OP is great and does fit deathnote.

Symbolically:
Light (with the deathnote) has god-like power...
He also has L still spinning in circles...
He's basically baiting Ryuk to do whatever he wants...
All the cops are "shooting" and "missing"
He's got a star-model girl that's crazy for him...

Basically he's bad ass.

Just watched ep 20 and this is the first time that I heard f word in an anime opening sequence.

Overall both OP and ED sequences are good but not for the new OP song.

As far as the songs go, the band has a very primitive hardcore sound with experimental elements. Think Hatebreed + System of a Down combo, except slightly better (for the record I hate both of those bands with a passion). Do I like the song? Not particularly, but it grows on you. Honestly, it works here. I love the intensity. Ultimately though, I feel that people are focusing on the song too much and not the video as a whole. Everything works, it's perfect, and I get a stupid grin on my face every time I watch it/them. The ED is simply incredible and the song is a bit better in it. The new Death Note OP/ED combo is one of the few that I've seen really break the mold, and I like that.

I just have to say I'm shocked. I have never had an OP and ED that I actually REALLY liked and wanted to download. Most OP's and ED's are j-pop crap or too light to me. I would NEVER have expected to hear metal at the start of my anime. I can't wait to get home tonight so I can look for more songs from the band.

I've only seen the OP so far, and it's beginning to grow on me. The song is okay. Nothing I haven't heard before. The video for it is quite good. Yay for Misa fan service.

I'm not fond much for hard rock or heavy metal music, but there are no words for me to describe the video and footage of Death Note's second opening.

The animation uses contrast between light & shadows with striking colors to creat a psychedelic effect and almost if most of the imagery is subliminal as it is surreal.
I just love Misas' frames in the new opening, and I noticed that it is quite spoilerful; there are three new faces which have never been seen during the course of the anime.

The second ending is just all Light restored back to his DEATH NOTE days and dressed in an executive's suit.

Its been close to three weeks still I cant stand the ED . I am praying the ed grows onto me or this will be most definately the worst ed ever

OP2 is a bit too psycho and the song converted kinda badly into the 1:24 size, ends kinda abruptly and leaves you very confused :P but still you have to love the animation.
I like the ED2 a lot though.

Hell, new songs are damn too hardcore. the ending is better than the opening, but I still prefer Nightmare op/ed set.

The clips are great, especially the opening. As for the ending clip, is it me or Raito looks like a complete insane psychotic ?

Anyone know what the music track is called that takes place in eppy 9, when L is walking on the podium with Light, kinda has this bell tune...I think it's called "L's Theme A" but I'm not sure...
