Honestly, Madhouse should have learned from TMS how to adapt manga material into anime to the end. TMS was responsible to produce D.Gray-man TV series and went all the way with the manga through the anime, until the last episode. Of course, they quite took some creative liberties in just a few episodes, including this one, but they never let the audience down with the quality of the storyline. In contrast, Madhouse grounded the audiences' expectations miserably for Claymore went they took the decision to let the anime stray off the manga source in the last six episodes. They should have gone ahead with the manga through the anime until the end, as much as the pacing and gap between both allowed them to. The more I think about it there were two instances in the last episode D.Gray-man episode that paid more of a parallel and coincidence than a reference to Claymore. Spoiler:

Well, I'm one who you may call an Earl supporter. He knows tons of stuff that has been left unsaid so far, along with Central. The saga will continue in the manga, but for now, I'm leaning towards the Earl.

Well, the "Krory awake" scene make me doubt about a second season (there is a story line in the manga about krory awakening so.... )
I was really sad about this last episode.. watching everyone in the new uniforms was kind of melancholic .... we just can have hope about another season....this was my favorite shounen.

Krory woken up and the Order moving next door earlier than it happened in the manga is not a big issue.
In fact, if the day that comes for the anime to return I'm sure the writers will retcon the events of the last episode to include all the dialogue and scenes that were omitted. BTW, does the painting in Allen's room has any meaning to? It's the portrait of the grinning imp dressed as a harlequin. |

I just finished 103 and I'm holding myself back from running out and buying all the Manga to see what happens next. They took a mediocre shounen (which it was in episode 26-50) and turned it into probably the most exciting show out there with characters that you actually care about. Then after the the best fight scene in the series (Lenalee's fight against the first Level 3 comes very close) they END THE SHOW.
Stupid. Just stupid. |

Nooooo it's over
In this past week I've seen end of Code Geese, Macross Frontier and now D.Gray-man. I was definitely not expecting D.Gray-man to end. There are so many questions left unanswered. I hope it comes back next season. Now I'm down to watching Naruto, Bleach and One Piece. |

How about, "What happens afterward?"
Considering the anime is finished, and the manga is still continuing, and has yet to explain all the questions posed early on, I think it's fairly clear what people are wondering. What is Lenalee's innocence? What of Allen Walker and his connection to the Noahs? What's goin' on with Tyki? Just for example. I highly recommend everyone here go and read the manga. =)
