Apparently Southern Mississippi didn't get the memo from Conference USA about yesterday's conference championship. A lot of the conference ADs were privately rooting for Houston because, if it were named to a bowl, it could mean a payment of something like $12 million from the BCS to Conference USA. Oh, well, there's always next year!

Southern Mississippi has an outside shot of hopping TCU, though it's doubtful since TCU won their confernece as well.

TJ Yates! TJ Yates! UNC! UNC! UNC!

And the Panthers finally avoids a 2nd half collapse and slaps the Bucs. And we aren't last in the NFC South anymore.

Today was a great day for me. It would be even better if Oklahoma State gets into the NC game, but I'm not holding my breath for that.

It is the power of Tebow Christ that is strengthening the Dolphins.

Sleeper alert - Caleb Hanie vs. Chiefs: Matt "Money" Smith of NFL Fantasy LIVE pointed out that Hanie scored 17.16 fantasy points last week -- despite tossing three interceptions. He also ran for 50 yards, giving him added value in fantasy land. Hanie is a viable deep-league or two-quarterback format option.

Caleb Hanie, he said...

But to be fair... Hanie could have scored 2 TDs...

The Dolphins have a chance to finish 8-8. They play their three AFC East opponents and the Eagles. Given the trends, they'll beat Buffalo and the Eagles. The Dolphins even have an outside chance of sweeping the Jets (home) and Pats (away), too. Even if the Dolphins go 3-1 in the remaining games and finish at 7-9, it's still a remarkable comeback for a team that lost its first seven games.

However things turn out this year, I'm not looking forward to playing Miami next year. Buffalo "could have been a contender." The Jets might contend, but they'll have to play a lot better next season. Miami has a proud history in the NFL, one its fans haven't forgotten. I'd enjoy reviving our rivalry with the Dolphins, though skewering Rex always has entertainment value.

Rodgers is God, deal with it.

58 second left? too easy.

I did not watch that Giants-Packers game - in fear of jinxing it. But that sacrifice has been nulled...

Yikes...how about that finish in New York?! Utter shootout between Rodgers and Manning. Manning gets it level with 58 seconds left but Rodgers just let it rip and drove Green Bay to field goal range at the death. Definitely one of the games of the year. What is so damn apparent is that Green Bay are terribly fragile in defense. Rodgers is carrying them - but he does have receivers that are very perceptive and react well to pressure. Good comeback game for Bradshaw. Giants would have wanted this one big time and gave it just about everything they had. However, Dallas failing in Arizona means that race for the NFC West qualifiying spot will come down to the two games between the Cowboys and the Giants.

Tebow does it again for Denver...and the scary thing is, since Forte got injured tonight, Chicago is in real danger of losing to Denver. If they can only manage three points against Kansas City...they are screwed.

Houston survived Atlanta - huge relief. Can people stop overhyping the Falcons or what?! Matt Ryan is never going to win a Superbowl. Turner and White flatter that clown and then some.

Colts were spirited against the Patriots, but it was an inevitable result. At least it wasn't a blowout.

Pittsburgh destroyed Cincinatti. AFC North is still super-tight.

Carolina get a much-deserved win. Cam Newton with three running TDs - eat your heart out, Tebow.

49ers are guaranteed playoff action. Good luck to anyone versing that defense.

Saints-Lions coming up. That is delectable.

Have to say the receivers carried Rodgers a bit more than usual today, can you believe those acrobatic catches made by Driver and Nelson and the effort to keep the feet in bounds? ESPECIALLY that last TD catch by Driver. Catch of the game, IMO.
