Holy crap! I just saw the raw scan of c42 (and scanned rapidly through a translation someone quickly did)...whoa

NOTE: the following is uncontrolled Raw reaction...rawr!! (and no, pun is not intended)

I'm not going to give anything away but WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO ZERO?? . When you read the chapter, you'll know what I mean.

Yes, finally Yuuki looks bada$$ . *cheers for Yuuki shedding her naive demeanor* But dammit, looks like Yuuki has decided...she's sticking with Zero. *can no longer speak* ... *cries, wails, screams, rants, sends things airborne, knock down walls* And Zero totally doesn't deserve this, especially what he still says to her. D:< I just knew this would happen for frickin' sakes...all the evidence was pointing to this - especially when she ditched Kaname and decided to stay behind to fight (knowing she'll be fighting alongside Zero). Poor Kaname, always alone and yearning. Now he will have to fight a hefty battle all alone as well. Seeing how things are really unfolding now...my money is on Kaname's death - no matter how I dread it.

Alright, this wasn't the typical, thoughtful analytical post I usually do for a new chapter...expect that later when I actually sit down to read a good scan.

Hmm, it may be just me (getting this impression or being plain slow), but I think the mangaka has intended Zero to be the main protag all along: his screen time in the manga speaks for itself but

the association of the rose, which is a symbol of VK, with Zero and now with Zero turning into basically a rose with all those thorny vines, is further proof that Zero's the main protag of the two (between Kaname and himself). But, yeah, like LightningZERO posted, I was expecting something far different than Zero turning into rose vines. Not really vampiric if you ask me. I wonder if he needs watering now.

But the one glaring thing I noticed in the chapter is that Zero STILL calls Yuuki an enemy (if I speed-read that part correctly). Talk about unforgiving. Now I really feel (being a Kaname-fan aside) that Zero is less deserving of Yuuki. If he does end up with Yuuki, he has better done something extremely selfless for her - that can outweigh everything that Kaname has done for Yuuki so far.

I think because of that Rido Hate both of them ~

also my friend said something really interested :
all of : kaname , zero and Aidou tasted the blood of yuuki .. I think yuuki blood have some power also it's full of : love , pure ..etc

and all the 3 of them willing to protect her with their life .. yeah everyone will say zero not
because what he said in ch 42 , but we also know zero always acts , but in the inside he's different ~

If yuuki's blood does have some power I think it's the key to kill Rido ~
since his blood full of hatred ..etc

if yuuki blood get mixed with it , maybe something will happen to him ~
since her blood get into : kaname , zero and Aidou ~
we all see what are they willing to do for her .. but I don't think Rido will even Bears her blood !!

Yeah I see what you mean.And the more I fear for Kaname. In chapter 42 we see Zero in full power with thorny rose vines all. On the next chapter I hope to see Kaname making his grand entrance too.Iactually I havent seen the full extent of Kaname's power. Breaking glass windows cant be only it.Since he is the strongest of Kuran. The ancestor of all vampires. I also hope see Takuma,Shiki and the other night class in action,their vampire powers in full gear....

Yuuki and Zero's weapons evolved into something stronger
and new (Artremis,Bloody Rose)
maybe Kaname's Weapon "the sword thing" would be next!

Is Yuuki really just 16? Or is she "16" in Vampire age? We know that Kaname is probably waaay older than whatever he is right now - 17 or 18?

If you're referring to the sword he held during the flashback, that's a Hunter's weapon. Speaking of which, the one thing I still can't figure out is how a Hunter's weapon (ie. that sword) was present during an all vampire (pureblood) battle? Was there a human vampire hunter nearby? Or did Rido bring that weapon along with him - if so, how the hell did he get that?

As of present, we (at least me) have no idea what Kaname's real power is or what form it takes. All I've seen so far is that he has the power to create great wind-like or gravitation-like forces that can slice cigarettes and break pavements (), but, if I recall correctly, Kaname says that his full power or his real power is still being locked away and has not completely awaken yet - and that in order to awaken his power he needs Rido to die.

as we know (maybe) Kaname has a curse that he could never kill Rido
thats why he said that Zero should be the Ultimate Vampire Hunter...
and whats Yuuki? the girl who's loved by everyone?(and yeah. i love her too )
i think is 16 maybe cause every shoujo character is.. and obviously Rido
is too old for her...

if you like vampire stuff and reading i suggest reading twilight. the movie is comeing out in december! if you want to read it online for free look it up at scribd just look up twilight stephanie meyer. great book, ^^; and i love vampire knight.
