SOMEONE PLZ EXPLAIN THE BLOODY HIPPO OUTFIT!

Good episode enjoyed it, actually I think the thing that makes these type of series good is the music and how well it plays with the series.

Oni-chan.....funny....

Romance in this seires is going to be complicated, one heartbreaking triangle.

Alto lied to Ranka without even thinking about it, actually it's more like he didn't even realized he lied. He really thought he was went by himself.

Looking forward to ep 7!!!!!!!!!

Damn this was an awesome episode. especially thanks to the ending that was awesome.
Gotta love how "oni-chan" accepted whatshisface proposition .
Gotta love all the expressions Ranka's face can make.
Also , anyone knows what's the name of that White-base (j/k ?) look alike they are on ? didn't catch it's name if they said it . =/
Anyway , Next episode looks like it will be action-packed , I think we can expect a few ( or at least one ) death .

episode 6 was superior quality, looks like big fight is about to start in 7th

..... the macrossF series is much better than CG_R2 to me, if i have to compare the both....

Awesome episode, lots happened even though it was a slow episode. The whole departure scene felt like they were never going to come back.
Alto, Sheryl and the earing was obvious as well.
Kathy got assigned to the SMS Battleship as well (I think its called SMS Macross Quarter), so shes along for the ride.
Also in the preview i thought i caught a glimpse of Mr Birla(sp?).

Anyways excellent episode and now i am dying to know what happens next. These next 7 days are going to be hell.

good eps. first time in over a year that i feel like giving an episode a 9/10.
not much to say, a very good execution in this eps, the mood was right how it was supposed to be, the things the characters didnt say were the right ones.
i never appreciated the end song to it s true value until this eps, the song when associate with the animation had a strong emotional impact on me.

just a detail but what the heck was up with the eye design in this eps, they looked strange compared to the previous eps (might just be me thou)

Well, besides the bad animation from time to time, I thought this was another nice ep. Things are moving so fast now, I can just feel the epix battles beginning (gogo captain GARlock!).
Ranka is really "getting it" though...her chances are fading fast.

my guess would be a lain reference... dont ask me what lain would have anything to do with macross. but both lain and ranka's pijama looks kinda similar

The scene where Sheryl ascended to the concert as Alto prepared to launch pretty much enforced the meaning of 'Valkyrie'. I like the symbolism very much.

Also dig the brother scene. But its funny, because its as if Ozma was accepting a marriage proposal for his sister.

Saw lots of Meltlandi gunships, as well.

Wow, Macross F keeps surprising me. I just get more and more impressed by it. This episode started out kinda slowly, but sped up a lot starting form the press conference - even though it's just mostly setting up for the next episode.

The final ending sequence, with the Macross quarter separating from the colony, and accompanied with Diamon Crevasse. What a great transition! What an incredible way to end the episode. Instead of just looking forward to Geass R2 every week, I get look forward to Geass R2 and Macross F every week.

Macross F doesn't do anything new - it's all very classic Macross stuff and homages, but they just do it right even with all the production-values crashing (esp. characters' faces - you compare characters' faces from eps 4-6 they'd all look different from each other). It's just so pretty and so well choreographed that I'd be willing to overlook such missteps (knowing that they'd be corrected for the gorgeous Blu-Ray release - BANDAI VISUAL: RELEASE BLU-RAY MACROSS F IN THE US!!!)

I am not going to call who's going to win (Sheryl or Ranka) but I am just going to say that I am becoming more and more drawn to Sheryl's side. I started out as a fan for Ranka but Sheryl just seems so...deep a character. She's very strong and determined, but has her softer and more playful sides. That's a complete character to me.

Realist_Classic Casual prosumer of anime Join Date: Dec 2003 Location: Germany, most of the time.	That was another great episode. Spoiler for Spooilers: Lots of nice things going on in a fairly slow, but needed transition episode. Looks like Ozma has given in and let Ranka pursue her singing career after all. Absolutely loved how Sheryl's earring symbolizes her connection to Alto, especially that blend-in shot from Alto's cockpit into Sheryl standing in the concert hall. I just wished that the animation quality was a bit better. In terms of the state of the love triangle, I think that one shot of Ranka having to run a marathon to the concert hall is an accurate depiction of where Ranka is relative to Sheryl at the moment. I have a feeling that ThoHell's comment is on the mark (comment #23). Although production values dropped quite a bit and became a distraction, especially towards the final minutes of the ending. However, all of this episode's shortcomings will most likely be forgotten next week. Sh*t's going down!!!

Michael calling him an idiot was probably the writer's way of emphasizing that. Just after 2 Sheryl-filled episodes, Alto's all 'Sherified' already. He even lied to Ranka, that jerk haha Poor thing. But I like how things are going so far. I also loved the last five minutes (cuz of Diamond Crevasse) and that last bit where Ranka saw the SMS head off after 'marathoning' to get to the concert hall. She never even had a proper goodbye to them. Next episode is giving me bad vibes. They better not kill off Ozma next episode or the episode after that. x_x So I heard this show is going to be 25 episode long? Is that true?
