Here are the Kujibiki Unbalance manga volumes:

The manga are published under the seinen(young men's) label MF Library J.
For now there are 3 volumes released of this manga, here are the covers:

Genre: Seinen, Comedy
Fairly late, but anyway....

Those aren't pictures of the manga, if there even is one (and I'm not sure there is). Those are pictures of the KujiUn *novel* series. I have the first two volumes sitting on my shelf right now.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Kujian was so campy to begin with. It was only interesting cause the characters in the show watched it. Maybe this is a setup again...

Translation: 「くじびき♥アンバランス」今秋より漫画連載&単独TVアニメ化決定!(2ch)
[Kujibiki Unbalance] From this fall, manga serialization and independent anime series decided!
(This makes it sound like it's an original).

先週メールフォームから情報頂いてましたが、去年のコミケの取材表記にあった「げんしけん二期」はあくまで 仮タイトルで、「くじアン」の再アニメ化が正解だったようですな。
This information arrived last week from the mail form but, it seems to have been confirmed that what was declared in the reports of last year's comike as "Genshiken 2nd season", has ended up being, with the tenative title, another "Kujian" anime.

Squee! I'd still like an actual second Genshiken season, but if Kujiun has been successful enough to be its own anime, I'd bet that there'll be one coming eventually, after the manga winds up.

Yeah I know, it was quite some time when I posted that, and I totally forgot about correcting it.

Thats a light novel and not a manga, as you said, anyway I'll be correcting that post.

MF Bunko J is a label that has light novels for male audience published under it. (there's no manga published under this light novel label (to my knowledge, well its a light novel label ^^;; )).

To my knowledge, the last chapter of Genshiken manga will be in July's issue of Afternoon magazine (released 25/5/2006)

Yes, two days from now, the last chapter of Genshiken manga will be out >.<

That might mean that the last volume of Geshinken will be volume 8.

As much as I'd love a kujiun series, I'm quite dissappointed that we won't be getting a second season of genshiken. I wanted to see Ogiue animated... The genshiken manga ending at volume 8 is bad news as well...

That, by the way, was the original site for the adjunct series to Genshiken. No info concerning the new stand-alone anime series is on the site yet.

I haven't checked out the official release for the Genshiken manga so I was wondering if it had notes on the references from the other anime and manga.

Why in the name of god there is not coming second season of Genshiken instead of this annoying stereotypeshite Kujibikiwhatever?!

I loved Genshiken from my heart but this sucks!

Does anybody know why they decided to do this?

What other reason? To make money. It is a shame though I agree, Genshiken 2nd season would be something to really look forward to, but I doubt i'll be that worried about watching Kujibiki Unbalance.

Mind you, I'm fairly heavily into slice of life style anime at the moment, so something like Kujibiki isn't really my thing currently in any case.

you may not realize it but kukiki unbalance has solid character designs. sure they are stereotypical, but they definately hold their own personalities.

i think a big problem with genshiken was that the second half of season one was so weak. not just the story, but they let the character personalities shift too much and thats not good. kasukabe was way too mild in the last few episodes. not enough poking fun at the otaku humor either, got a little too serious in places it should not have. i think it hurt their casual fanbase. season 2 could redeem the series, but alot of effort to make it enjoyable is needed.

Further Genshiken Animation Likely

From Anime News Service:

Quote:
Further Genshiken Animation Likely
Despite widespread reports to the contrary, ANS is hearing that a sequel or further animation to the Genshiken TV series is still likely. The official website www.genshiken.info has renewed after a longtime this week. Many Japanese observers point to 2 things there that could suggest a sequel. Number 1: the new "Copyright 2006" mark on the site. 2: The splash screen happens to be the last scene of the TV series, showing a new member entering the club's room. A new TV or OVA adaptation is being predicted. It was first hinted in a compilation of Comiket 69 news that Media Factory had announced a second season of Genshiken TV to broadcast in October, 2006. Doubt was cast on a possible sequel this week when news surfaced that a Kujibiki Unbalance TV series was due to debut in the fall of 2006 and perhaps the true work Media Factory had alluded to at Comike. Kujibiki Unbalance is an anime within the Genshiken anime.
I hope its true, I hope its true, I hope its true >.< ohh please please please >.<
