Interesting first episodes. Really quirky and a lot of the jokes went passed my head. Maybe cultural differences? The animation at point reminded me of Samurai Jack's for some reason.

You know, sort of surreal.

You sure it wasn't the fight scene?

It was cute to see the return of the Zetsubou-sensei Drawing Song, but wow. Kaere's drawing was utterly psychotic.

Wow, it's already subbed? Cool.

And bah.. I was expecting to see a Zetsubou board. Well, we can't have everything, just the subbed episodes are enough for me, hehe.

Watching the subs, the OP is already growing on me.

TV Ending for the OP is a bit naff though.

Isn't it a recurring joke that if Kobayashi is to draw anything, nobody knows what it is?

It kind of looked like that she drew the pictures exactly as what was stated in the lyrics of the song, rather than the picture that the song was trying to lead into.

So, a literal tulip on its side, lightning hitting it, rain drops, puddles, and... fish cakes?

On another note, Gotou Yuko draw quite well apparently.

This episode was delicious.

I really enjoyed the prison break, just because it was completely bizaare, but the other parts had their moments. We've never ended a SZS mid-skit before, so I did find that odd.

Yep. Zetsubou Sensei is back.

Not sure if she does it anymore, though a while back you could find sketches on her official blog of current characters she was voicing. She is quite talented.

At least they toned down the HUNDREDS OF CULTURAL REFERENCES PER EPISODE thing by about half....

Other than that, decent showing. The first ep didn't quite have the frantic feeling of some episodes in the previous two seasons. Some of the Zetsubou-sensei ravings were actually quite tame... Weird.

I seen a clip where she was cosplaying as Anya from Code Geass and managed to draw/sketch a very gar space-ship captain like person under a minute. She is honestly a good artist. If only she can sing as well as she can draw

2 things I like about Zetsubou sensei:

-Sensei's inane rantings and quick lines.

-Kitsu Chiri murdering people.

they also happen to be my two favorite charcters of the series...

I keep coming back for more of them.

I like all the girls i suppose, as well as Sensei, but since this doesnt have its own forum, im wondering how many people have favorites as well.

I like Itoshiki, Kafuka, Ai, Harumi, Jun, Kiri, Chie and Nami. Usui to a lesser extent, although it's mostly born out of pity for him.

I actively dislike Mayo, and I'm actually not too fond of Chiri either.

I guess kafuka is the only girl that rubs me the wrong way. I seem to find overly cheery people creepy. I mean, hey, the Joker in Batman is a cheery person too.

I would like to see more Ai and alot more of the housewife student though.

That certainly was a blast!
Too bad a lot of the references went past me though.

Favourite part was the prison break. Usui is like an unwilling super-ninja.

As for favourite characters: Chiri, Itoshiki Nozomu, Ai, Usui, Kiri and Matoi I guess, although I find all of them fun (except perhaps Kaede)... in a good way.

Good translation....sigh but I'm totally spoiled on A.F.K's translation.....

The show itself...feels like I'm missing half the show...but it was good

Kaere falls in what I call my mid-tier range along with Meru, Maria, Matoi and Rin. All of them are characters with good premises that haven't been explored in a decent way.

The worst cases are Matoi wasting her comedic potential by being reduced to background prop with some occasional line and Kaere being mostly reduced to pantyshot supplier and nothing else.
