Was Kirie always such a gag character? That was pretty fun OVA when I pretend it doesn't take place after that terrible ending, especially Kirie's OP parody (the neatly piled maple leaves lol) and her poses and whatnot. Teiichi moe service was welcomed too.

Kudos to the scriptwriter for this episode. My god, those scenes are comedy gold.
Also nice twist with Choir Jail Kirie Version. The OP even gave up on Kirie's chuunibyou.

The OVA was pure gold, and reaffirmed why this show remains one of my favourites of all time. Also, watching the DX of ep. 12 made me tear up...again. That is a hard scene to swallow (even knowing how it concludes).

Got the chance to watch the extra episode. It was a lot funnier with Kirie getting the chance to get casted in the spotlight.

It showed that there was a previous generation who did the same kind of research into ghost activities, and, I believe, both Teiichi and Yuuko came to the conclusion that no matter the ghost stories they always have been about love and not getting lonely.

I haven't watched a romance/slice of life show in a long time, and I'm not sure this counts as slice of life.. but..

Not a bad show.. Actually it was surprisngly good, with some insightful gems here and there ("They see me as what they believe to see, in the end I'm an illusion, in the end believing the curse is what makes it real, etc.), and I liked that they didn't leave the conclusion to Yuukos story to be wrapped up in the last couple of episodes. Also that there was a harem, but not really. Kirie felt a little over dramatic at times, as did her problems, but overall both okonogi and kirie were solid side characters.

Having said that, what a horrid ending. It was a good, sensible ending with some goddamn depth (so rare!), while not being too sad, literally up until the last scene. Then its like they took a shit on my face.

What I was a little dissapointed about was

Spoiler for big story spoiler! :

i'm legitimately surprised by how dark the latter episodes are. on to 12 tomorrow and i'll start the manga when done with the show.. episode 10 was AMAZING. i'm stunned by how well it flowed and how they executed it. bravo. its rare that a show that get those types of feelings out of a viewer.
