There is also a nice fake 'time traveling' companion to the series called Chased by Sea Monsters, the host explores the deadliest oceans in different parts of prehistory. Walking with Dinosaurs is the more famous of the bunch, but there is also a series called Walking with Beasts that explores the mammalian period following the dinosaurs and is also quite entertaining. Though the "Walking with..." series sometimes exagerrates sizes and makes some minor mistakes, I think they do a good job of emulating what a nature documentary from past time periods would be like, all things considered. Plus, it's really fun if you like that type of thing. |

I discovered this thread while looking for some place to promote the PBS American Experience documentary Silicon Valley which documents the rise of the semiconductor industry. It focuses on Robert Noyce, first while at Fairchild and later after he founded Intel with Andy Groves and Gordon Moore.
These guys changed the world in ways we have yet to fully appreciate or understand.

So i just watched the HBO documentary film about Scientology, Going Clear.
It was disturbing and depressing to watch since it give details from former members the terrible things the organization has done and got away with it.

Dangerous Knowledge. I haven't watched it yet, but it came highly recommended by a colleague. It's about four famous mathematicians who went insane and committed suicide.
