Uh, I almost thought this episode was filler. It was fun and all but it felt kinda jammed in to ease the mood with all the drama lately .

this series is expectated to have only 39 episodes and have a "ending", that was the manga creator order on anime staff, they wanted to go more slow but the mangaka asked for then to cute a lot of things and anime can reach the manga end.

So when am I getting my spin-off of Mayuko and Tora's misadventures? They are way to adorable together.

My feelings are mixed. On the one hand, I really did enjoy this episode but on the other hand I feel like the show is meandering too much with these side stories.

Episode 25:

Well that escalated. A group of guy in suits coming to ambush Ushio..
I feel bad for Tora as he's getting a bit tortured. I swear, the scientists in this series are just too damn cruel. Kinda creepy about the experimentation and stuff going down there.

Overall, a thrilling episode.
The action was pretty good seeing Ushio in action.

Narrative fault. They couldn't even take a few seconds to introduce the scientists by name. Which they did in the manga.
From the manga, I had expected Bal to be female. Whatever.
And next week will be the season finale.

If they have an extra episode, I hope it's one of the stories from the side stories.

Call me surprised. I was expecting them to cram the H.A.M.M.R. arc in just one episode.
But we have two!

Episode 26 (finale):

Well, that was intense.

RIP Helena. At least Asako and the others survived but the facility is gone. I think the result of was kinda obvious with all the shit that went down. I liked how the finale of this season managed to deliver some top tier action while also getting some morality across, the reasoning for the their fighting.

8/10 for the season. Can't wait for the second half especially with that tease at the end. This finale was quite satisfying.

Tora to the rescue!
Was nice to see Ushio snap over scientists' indifference.
Hakumen was a challenge.. it just refused to be beaten.
Well, it ended with a blast LOL
Was nice to see things return to "normal" after everything.
Judging by the ending, we might get a 2nd season? Well, maybe.

Is it just me, or did Hakumen's eyes changed from being diamond-shaped when he was first shown to being round-ish in this last episode?

Welp, the season is over, honestly they really could have done better. A good chunk of the series didn't really have much suspense to it which brought it down for me. In fact the last two episode were somehow the best in a while, the rest before that were mostly "ooh, nice yokai designs!". It didn't really feel like a finale as much as it was some random side quest being done (HAMMR barely had much build up or meaning in the setting before being introduced). Excellent series, but barely.

Not a bad last episode before a short break. Although kind of ironic that despite all the fuss made about abandoning the people trapped down there....they still left them behind and blew them up . But hey....stuff happens.

In the end it's been a pretty fun ride. Certainly can feel the old school nature of this show, but hey that kind of thing works just fine now and then.

Looking forward to seeing how the story potentially wraps up in the next season.

And yeah personally had a good chuckle at Ushio embarrassing himself crying out about the 'death' of the doll Asako before Tora cleared things up .

Eps 19-21: Whoa, I was not expecting this show to get this intense or emotional. Up until the beginning of episode 19, I thought this was just an average shonen and was watching for nostalgia, but my throat ended up getting pretty tight during that past arc in ep 20. Also, the soundtrack has been complementing the emotions in these scenes phenomally these past few episodes. The strings are just beautiful, and that bgm when the Hizaki died -- is this Howard Shore or something? Wow, just wow.
